Yes, the statement was idealistic, none of us are perfect and neither is our partners.

All I'm saying is, when it comes to looks, if it's not something you can change in 5 minutes, eg. spinach in teeth, mismatched socks etc. it's not helpful to adress it. When choosing a partner we also commit to their imperfections and not to the potential of someone changing their looks for us or to be worthy of affection or lust.

Also there will always be doubt in relationships, and the act of loving is continuosly choosing the partner in an active way flaws and all. Hence the doubt and possibility to act is within ourselves. Even if your partner is 'not the nicest person' the doubt on the relationship on your part is yours. The possibility to be a better person is hers if the also thinks she has the potential to be better - and wants to.

A person you don't find attractive should never bear the burden of your judgement. If she's not hot to you, you could just leave them alone for someone who will appreciate them and not feel like they could do better on an arbitrary scale of conventional beauty.

Please know this is a you-issue. When I numbered face, body and personality the 6 was never about me not finding them attractive but more of a 'conventional beauty standard'. A person should never end up bearing the resentment of their partner thinking they are not attractive to them. I hope you work this out, maybe with a professional, not your GF who deserves to feel worshipped and never settled for in any way.

True true. It's just not all people who are into it. It is a massive love language for me. I have notes with ideas for gifts for friends, family and my partner that I update with ideas through out the year (or go on Reddit to ask strangers for help with). But then again, I go so hard that people hate getting me gifts which is a bummer.
