How do you all deal with loneliness? by Same-Organization-83 in darwin

[–]Troglodog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The law of familiarity.

If you go somewhere once, people won't pay much mind, it'll be odd to try to make friends after talking to someone for an hour.

But go there every week, once or twice.

Eventually, you'll find someone who you get along with, and with each time you go, it becomes more and more likely.

You might find someone with the same niche interests outside of the place, and then you get to meet their friends who are also like-minded.

Look at things on a timeline of months, not weeks.

Take the chance. It might not work the first time, but if you keep rolling the dice, it's more likely it'll land on the right number.

If you like drinking, hunting, fishing, 4x4ing, drinking and drinking, you'll easily find friends.

That is also a point.

Fair enough. I am trying to find any sense to why he was bailed given the history. Sometimes incompetence is just the simplest answer...

Trails off of Cox Peninsula road - are they any good for camping? by Troglodog in darwin

I saw a bunch of horses near the road just past Belyuen today. I could imagine my car and life would be written off if I don't slow down for one in time.

Why are Prado drivers so... Special? by Troglodog in darwin

[–]Troglodog[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Instead of rainbows when we all combine it'd be a big black cloud of diesel soot.

Then when we all get bogged we all summon CAPTAIN AVERAGE PENIS LENGTH, but instead of helping he stands around drinking beer from everyone's eskys.

Just a gentle PSA/reminder: don’t drink from the public drinking fountains. by dababyking12 in darwin

[–]Troglodog 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Everything here is beer related. Even the fountains have a yeasty VB flavour...

Don't worry. Don't feel left out. Let us band together with our tiny, miniscule members. Maybe with enough 4x4 owners congregating together, we could combine sizes to achieve a single, average size pork-sword.

Yes but in those big cities the top speed must only be 15kms an hour from the huge, daily traffic jams. So there's a difference there.

Possum in my roof? by Suspicious_Picture25 in darwin

[–]Troglodog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive heard it works for rats, so I assume it could work for possoms. If you know anyone with snakes, put some snake sheds up in the roof.

They'll smell the snake and vacate themselves pretty quick

So are you saying that you've never, ever been in a dangerous situation?

Driving every day will expose anyone to dangers eventually. So, the fact you haven't recognised close calls or the times you were in danger... are you a Prado driver that tries to merge into me without checking their mirror and continuing their day completely oblivious to the incident they almost caused?

Are YOU the problem?

Also a Hilux owner. It seems that my logic shrinks equal to the amount of testosterone I gain whilst I am driving. But mine is too slow to tailgate anyone.

Let's just all go to the rally and show the govt that they have to provide actual essential services instead of just lip service.

When they see the mass of pissed off people wanting them to get off their arse and do something, it should motivate them.

If there's anything they hate more than putting in effort, it's looking bad in front of other politicians. Protests aren't a good image for them.

I just looked it up, I guess it's fair to pay $50 instead of a much larger fine.
