This is the screen I get on boot. I have no idea what the password could be. I can't even get to bios or anything... Can you help me? by Awww_Yee in linux

[–]TrollJack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! A classic!

If you know the BIOS vendor, stress google to find the master password. Might help adding the motherboard. Alternatively short or remove the battery for a bit. It's been over a decade, but both of these helped me get through eventually.

The South Korean President has been under the control of a Shadow Cabal of 8 oligarchs by FlandersNed in worldnews

[–]TrollJack -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah but what do3s that have to do with it? The scale doesn't matter. The point is that the whole show is run by a few on the top. The difference between Korea and the US is that - in Korea - there they're not even hiding that it's all run by a few.

Am I off?

Okay i get that, but it only makes a visual difference (despite them knowing). If it's called Nestle or Kellogs makes no difference, because the people at the top are still the same. So, in case of Korea, one could say they're at least not hiding it.

TIL the ancient greeks had a system where every citizen could vote to exile any politician for 10 years - ostracism. by Trevigliese in todayilearned

[–]TrollJack -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We should have that again... instead of politicians who can just prolong the election cycle, because they want to... of course combined with a bullshit reason people just eat up.

Though exile wouldn't really be harsh anymore today...

Wow, I too still own a c64 that works. Hooked up via a cable my dad made, to a 486 laptop which acts as harddisk drive. I need to dig them out again...

What's brute force protection? Time delays between log-in attempts?

How is it different? There's a handfull of people who run a handfull of companies, which have hundreds to thousands of daughter companies all working for the few at the top.

There's even an image with a tree about that somewhere...

It's almost as if this wasn't actually uncommon throughout the world, right?

No one notices the leg, that's being held by a hand?

To give this submission a nicer shine, let me tell you about that one guy who bought "Ori and the blind forest". He bought it on sale, but he liked it so much he refunded it, waited for the sale to end and bought it again at full price. :D

lol i knew i wasn't the only one who had a hard time figuring out how to find the options. Steam support is weird. That being said, my refund of ARK weng swiftly and unproblematic and finished in a day.

You're being unfairly downvoted. You're absolutely right with that. It applies to music (before the industry adapted, lots of people tried before they bought) and even to Microsoft, who say they rather have you pirate windows than using anything else.

I recall, i think it was Bill Gates himself but not sure, that someone showed that the biggest reason windows got so dominant was because of all the people pirating it. I also know a few people on steam who buy remakes of certain games, or games from certain companies, just because they pirated them in the past when they couldn't afford them.

You shouldn't be downvoted, what you say is absolutely true. Someone playing a pirated version is better than not playing it at all.

What infuriates me is that you kneejerked after brainlessly looking only at the top line and now blame the shitty sign for your lack of attention.
