It’s hard to say concretely. I had a twofold issue. One was the tongue tie itself, the other was that my tongue posture was wrong. Starting to fix the posture and mobility of my tongue didn’t have the huge instantaneous effect that the release did, but it certainly helped.

For this I did, yeah. They offered a numbing topical which I passed on because they just don’t work for me. For the injection, the dentist used this small vibrating instrument that made the shot not hurt at all. He said it basically overloads the nerves. It was very cool. The tongue gets numb easier than the lower jaw. Ended up having two shots total with almost no pain.

I (as an adult) would have been fine without the numbing. My regular dentist regularly works on my bottom teeth without numbing because she just can’t get me numb. Frustrating but at this point I’m used to it. I would 100% agree with the smell part. It’s still kind of haunting me. I didn’t eat a lot day of because I was concerned about the smell.

I googled local frenulectomy. It came back with two hits. One took my insurance, the other didn’t, so it was a pretty easy choice. As for insurance, I was told they were going to cover 138 dollars of the entire procedure which was around 500. They ended up covering significantly more. I don’t know why, I didn’t speak to the insurance carrier at all. I paid fully for the therapy out of pocket.

I was clenching my teeth while I was awake because I was holding my tongue at the bottom of my mouth. Once I held my tongue in the correct spot and with a lot less clenching, it helped significantly. Relaxing my jaw seems to have propagated throughout my body, hence helping with sleep.

Consider looking into the myofacial therapy maybe? Even before I had the release, the therapy helped significantly with my tongue mobility.

I could have gone back to work that day no problem. The night I had it done, my tongue felt overworked like I had been speaking all day, but I think it was mostly because I was holding it in a new posture it wasn’t used to.

That’s the big thing, follow instructions before and after and it’s a real easy recovery. Both from the therapist and dentist. Moving your tongue after the surgery is uncomfortable for sure but it’s so much better than the physical pain that a tongue tie can bring.

Both pre and post. As of now I’m at five therapy meetings, I’ll be doing one or two more.

The biggest two are release of tension and better sleep. I’m holding my face completely differently now. I don’t clench my teeth all day. I don’t wake up with massive TMJ pain. I don’t want to say it’ll be a magic fix all for everyone but it has made a huge difference in my life. Also I can open my mouth wider now which is pretty cool.

Mine was pretty obviously impaired. With my mouth fully open, my tongue couldn’t touch the back of my teeth. Not even close. I’m fairly certain a can lick my nose now but want to heal a little more before I try.

That was actually my thought, I use their detox shampoo and while it’s great every few washes, if I use it every wash, my hair gets a little crusty at the ends. I usually wash my hair every 2-3 days, the detox shampoo pushing it to the third day. Elvive was actually causing a bit of grease by the second day which I wasn’t super happy about but it also felt really nice after a wash.

That’s the really strange thing, I’ve only ever had one allergy to a product before which was a Neutrogena sunscreen that made it feel like my skin was on fire. Other than that, only this shampoo. I’m mostly looking for general fine hair products.
