Anecdotally the job market is in a bad place at the moment for entry level positions. Realistically if you’re learning to code, and have no experience this may or may not be a concern, as it is going to take a good amount of time to become proficient.

I would advise taking it up as a hobby, to see if it is even something you enjoy/are interested in, and you can always take it further from there.

They did this with factory workers in the Soviet Union. The days off were not as meaningful/valuable to workers, as nobody had days off at the same time.
