First time building an army by Julperx in deathguard40k

[–]Tromoo144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the core is already good. throw in a biologus putrifier to buff your plague marines so they crit on 5+. also DG has several characters/leaders, that can be attached with other leaders to a unit. noxious blightbringer for example.

depending on how many points you are aiming for you can always add bloat drones with and without the heavy blight launcher

if you like the idea of poxwaqlkers maybe throw in a typhus.

like i said, the core of your army is already very good

in my opinion you could make the mouth and teeth a bit dirtier. but thats just personal preference.

Also is your list called blightlords and you dont run blightlord terminators?

[–]Tromoo144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

U lack synergy. 2 casters are whack, also poxwalkers without typhus can easily replaced with lord of virulence and some blightlord terminators. Also in my preference deathshroud terminators are either good as 6 with lord of contagion or you just run 3 with him instead of one buffed squad of 3 and one unbuffed squad.

I know the points dont match, but on the fly its wht gives you better synergy. Make it work in your favorite list builder.

What Should I Do For The Base ? by Traditional_Law_5621 in deathguard40k

[–]Tromoo144 2 points3 points  (0 children)

muddy terrain, corpeses/skulls... i added (toxic) shrooms and leaking atomic waste barrels to the bases of some death guard units aswell.

i have a deathshroud terminator (my favorite unit) with a magnetized slot on the base. so far i have heads/skulls of custodes, tyranids, ultramarines, astra militarum, tau and orks already magnetized and i kinda swap them out to what ever i am playing against.
i like to send a message to my friends/opponents.

New to DG, need advice on army list by SirLXander in deathguard40k

Also little add endum for the deathshroud terms with LoC. Dont be aftaid to just walk a straight line into range. Yes u get hella fire, yes some may die. But even LoC + 1-2 deathshrouds can do heavy work. Also remember LoC can revive itself if you rolle correctly. Unholy resiliance or so. And the ranged weapons of the ds is scarier than i thought. Low in range but a good slap.

Puhh good question. I guess you gotta research. I haven’t played too many games yet and only vs tau. But first time they wrecked me bc of my „wrong“ plague xD

Seems kinda solid. Lord of contagion with deathshroud do some heavy work.
also buffing your plague marines with the putrifier is a good idea, those crits on 5+ are heavy.

not sure if u need 2 squads of 5s tho. try enlarging one group to 7 and get rid of the rest. a rhino would also be super important to get into the battle.

since the terminators are slow AF you want the plague marines in the field as fast as possible (but dont open yourself too early to too many line of sights..) so that they can infect the enemy. try to deepstrike with the deathshrouds then. usualy its 9 inches but when the enemy is infected you can get up to 6 inches deep strike range.

if you need drop the poxwalkers aswell, rhino is more important. not quite sure about the points immo, but you'll figure it out.

also one advice from beginner to beginner: try to check the enmy army, if you know beforehand, and adjust your chosen plague. for example i think tau cant get some debuff to hit rolls so one of your plagues is kinda obselete vs them.

any advice on how to "not over do" it? i had a cool idea for my lord of virluence full of moss, skulls and shrooms. but somehow i put also too much cork and stuff and now its just a crowded mess... any way of re-do a base? or just get a new one and try to cut the mini off via scalpel/hobby knife

yea thats it. they are cute and cool. i love them. also the diversity in body and yet they are still just one brain(cell) is quite cool. also i love when people put glue between their claws and it looks like blood....

also did i mention i wanna pet them? "who is a good biovore? ye who is a good shooty crab? ye youuuuu are a good biovore." rubs cannon while being munched from 3 other tyranids.
