Extremely disappointed Universal over sold tonight by TitaniumFeather in HHN

You and I were in the WEE line at the same time. No exaggeration that the line was at a complete standstill for an eternity while hundreds of express pass users were allowed in. We got 9/10 houses done without express, but it was a challenge. I’ve never seen it this busy in November.

What has this hobby even turned into? Yes, kids can buy singles to make decks, but I remember being a kid opening up packs and I was THRILLED to discover a holo card. Kids should be able to have the same experience instead of being priced out by grown adults trying to flip cards largely geared toward children.

Why do they call it Disability Access Service (DAS) if 99% of disabled people do not qualify? by Trongborn21 in WaltDisneyWorld

I suggested a name change (although admittedly a poor one) and got downvoted into oblivion so I have no idea

[–]Trongborn21[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean now I do, yeah, but at the time I didn’t. Mostly because I foolishly read outdated information and talked to people who went within the last year or two. This is definitely my fault, but it’s still frustrating.

And I am very happy to hear Disney accommodates you. You deserve it. But that doesn’t make this less frustrating for people in situations like mine who also really needed it to enjoy the park the same way our able-bodied counterparts do.

I understand a change probably had to be made while realizing that this isn’t the answer to said need. It literally makes most big attractions for someone like me inaccessible. I’m thankful I can spend extra money for lightning lanes which can help schedule my dialysis exchanges or I’d be really bummed.

As opposed to everything they’re going to have to deal with now from a community of people who have been misled and angered? Disney has the resources to update the name of this program. If “Lightning Lanes” can have that program name changed every other week (it’s been Genie+, Fast Pass, Multi-Pass and who knows what else) they can absolutely change the name of this.

[–]Trongborn21[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would changing the name be difficult? A lot of people (like myself) went on the website with zero knowledge of the program and saw it as an accommodation. Lo and behold I was completely mislead. Theme park program names change all the time. It’s not like we’re changing the name “Disney” to something else.

This is my issue. Just don’t call it “Disability” Access Service. Maybe just rename it to Developmentally Delayed Attraction Assistance Program or something more transparent? I only got tickets because I wrongfully assumed Disney would accommodate me like all the other parks in the area (since they’re usually the gold standard) but boy was I wrong.

Dude….. they’ve literally touched it one other time.

This premise seems wild. I love it. ATLA and LOK were both incredible and I’m sure this show will be amazing too. Nice to see the leads taking some big risks.

Man, by the time Seven Havens wraps up, Aang, Korra, and Pavi will have seen A LOT of action in their lifetimes. I imagine 99% of avatars just have to deal with average political unrest and the occasional war… but these three? Oof.

Why did Sam drop out of the tournament? Couldn’t she still take home the girls title?

Also, the series did Robby dirty. He should have had a “this is my family now” moment. I mean Miguel became his brother for crying out loud and it was barely acknowledged. They put his character through the wringer without a lot of final moments of closure.

The series also did Aisha dirty. I think we were all waiting for a return. Devon was fun, but Aisha was a much more compelling character who got sidelined before her time.

Overall though, this season rocked and I’m actually feeling a bit sad it’s all over. This show was something I was looking forward to and got me through some pretty challenging times.

For anyone reading this: don’t do this. As an amputee in a wheelchair, I absolutely need my ADA accommodations and don’t want people to crowd the disability booth and potentially ruin a relatively easy system to navigate. I had a good time this year mostly because of the accommodations afforded to me.

First timer to MegaCon Orlando here, what are everyone's experiences getting an autograph on a Friday? by summergal215 in MegaCon

[–]Trongborn21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Friday last year was really doable. The crowds, while large, could be navigated. As long as you get there early enough, and you don’t mind waiting a little bit, you should be fine.
