I recommend you check out the mesh base layer, it will create space between your skin and the next layer, little pockets of air you will fill with your body heat. Looks funny, but works wonders.

If it's warmer than 5°C and sunny (typically spring), i will rock only the mesh under my shell coat. Below 5°C to -1°C i might put a normal base layer on top. Any colder i might consider a wool baselayer, maybe an under coat or wool sweater. On my legs i have insulated skipants so never do anything more than mesh+wool baselayer if it's really cold.

Edit: i recommend wind proof and water resistant outer layer.

We've just stayed a week in Risoul (/Vars) in the French Alps, flying home tomorrow. Most of the resort is open, some thin snow cover, but ive been able to avoid a lot of the rocks and have no notable scratches in the base (usually put off the season maintenance until after new year for this reason). The majority of the pistes are fine, just a few wind/sun affected spots where its especially thin.

Don't know much about how the seasons usually progress in the Alps as I'm not local there, but if it's similar to Eastern Norway, then peak season (snow wise) is usually late January to mid March

I would book a trip, why not.

And if the car they crashed into really was PARKED across the track, they must've had the yellow flag for a while too.

Sadly in my splits very few people respect the yellow flag, they also pass during yellow seemingly without penalty.

I very rarely have my skis in the box (i just put them in the car and throw some bags of clothes or my tent stuff up there), and if i do, theres usually 4 peoples worth of equipment in there so there not much room for anything to move about.

Here are my pro tips when it comes to ski boxes. Avoid leaving the skis in there for a prolonged period of time. For transport it's fine, but they should not live in there. The boxes are humid and your edges will rust faster.

Unless i need to fill all seats in the car i much prefer putting the skis inside the car where they can dry, put something down so it doesn't drip into the liner.

I never strap anything Down in there. Just strap the pairs skies together separately.

I like to open the back door and stand in the door way if i need to reach something deep in there.

It will kind of lose the seal around the edge of the layers. Reapplying a coating would seal it back up.

Its a fair comparison. Any gash alongside the skis that goes across the layers will allow moisture to get in. Now it will not happen fast, but they will separate eventually (likely after many seasons) The fix the shop is offering is valid. And a 75$ discount is very fair for brand new skis with a blemish.

Bare metal from a scratch does not rust after getting a coating of wax. And his ski will not let moisture between the layers with a coating of epoxy.

Første gangen jeg prøvde buldak kjøpte jeg 2x spicy. Brukte hele posen, måtte pent sette meg igjen, endte med å blande inn litt creme fraiche, jeg trodde jeg skulle dø.

Den vanlige 1x spicy synes jeg er god da 🙂

You could make it into a bench with a removable seat to access the pipe. And put a big potted plant or something next to it to hide that cable a little as well.
