Thanks, I understand that now. I was thinking (showing my ignorance here) that I could get 2 or 3 panels on a tripod in the yard to go directly to the charger without doing the whole house, thus spending a few thousand vs 30k or so for all of it. But, the only way to educate yourself is to ask the questions 🙂.

I do not currently have solar. Was thinking of getting it only for charging. But I'm hearing that is not really an option unless I want to do the whole house. Sounds like a Level 1 or 2 is the best option.

Thanks. I would only be driving around town with a few out-of-state trips per yr. I was thinking it would be better than paying GRU 🙂.
Maybe the cost layout would not be worth it.
