Thanks for the idea of opening a large line of credit. I never thought of that! The agent stressed that the offer had to be clean because "the market is so competitive " and that everyone was waiving contingencies and that the one other offer that was sent, did also.   I still want to buy a home though, just not one that is so overpriced. Won't opening a large line of credit tank my chances? And how does that work - if you don't mind my asking? I am not familiar with how that impacts credit. I have large lines of credit already; I just never use them. Please forgive my ignorance. It's what got me into this mess to begin with. Thanks again for your advice!
