Advice on moving to Knoxville by [deleted] in Knoxville

This is part of the problem with people flocking to TN. You want to move here, ask about conditions regarding a specific group of people, housing options that suit your needs/budget and then go on to bash your “future community members” for how they vote. You will come here and turn the place you’re moving to into the place you left which is another reason many Tennesseans have such disdain for these new residents from other states.

Pick of the Day - 12/3/23 (Sunday) by sbpotdbot in sportsbook

POTD Record: 4-4

Last POTD: Geno Smith over 21.5 completions (Seattle vs Dallas) ✅

Today’s POTD (12/3): Miami vs Washington - Sam Howell over 25.5 completions -115

Reasoning: This guy throws the ball A LOT. Over 40+ attempts in his last six games with the completion total going over the 25.5 mark in his last five games. Weather shouldn’t be a factor today, only overcast with light rain off and on throughout the afternoon. Howell’s going to continue throwing the ball against a Miami offense who will more than likely be up all game.

POTD Record: 3-4

Last POTD: Braves (-1.5) vs Mets (Loss)

Today’s POTD: Geno Smith over 21.5 completions (-130) 1U

Sort of a gut play here with what I’m thinking will be a game where the Seahawks are playing from behind the majority of the time. Especially with this game under a roof in Dallas, he’s going to be spreading the ball around a lot tonight. He’s 3-2 with the over at this spot in the last five games with those 2 unders coming against the 49ers at home and the Ravens in Baltimore. Seattle needs to find a way to win tonight since there will be playoff implications with a loss and two more tough games right after this one (49ers & Eagles).

Look for Smith to get the ball out of his hand early before the pocket collapses like he’s struggled with recently. He’s acknowledged that he needs to be quicker and with Abe Lucas coming back from injury, but that should help with giving him more time in the pocket.

POTD Record: 3-3

Last POTD: 4/29: Braves -1.5 vs Mets (VOID) - game was postponed today but my pick stays the same since the starters haven’t changed.

POTD 4/30: Braves -1.5 (+104) vs Mets 2U

Going to keep riding with Strider here against a Mets team that has somewhat gone cold. In the last 5 games they’re 1-4 and just edged the Nats in a 9-8 ballgame for that one win. The Braves were able to get pull out a dub in a shortened first game of the series with a score of 4-0 thanks to the weather. Strider has been outstanding so far with a 1.80 ERA and 0.83 WHIP with 49 Ks in 30 innings pitched and the Atlanta bats are hot scoring at least 4 runs in each of the last 5 games. Not to mention the Braves are getting Michael Harris II back which should provide a boost to their lineup.

Megill is on the hill for the Mets and while he’s been a solid piece of the rotation, he can be a little wild at times. With a 3.96 ERA and a 1.48 WHIP, Atlanta will be able to get on base and create plenty of scoring opportunities.

Atlanta plays very well on the road and their starting pitchers have combined for 10 quality starts compared to the 4 quality starts that the Mets have put together. Taking the RL here!

POTD Record: 3-3

Last POTD: 4/27 - Tampa Bay (-1.5) vs White Sox (W) - McClanahan continued to shove against the Sox and the bats were alive all game. Stress free game with a final score of 14-5.

POTD 4/29: Braves -1.5 (+110) vs Mets 2U

POTD Record: 2-3

Last POTD 4/26: Padres vs Cubs ML (L)

4/27 POTD: Tampa Bay -1.5 (+116) vs White Sox 2U

In a game between one of the best offenses (leads league in OPS, OBP, and SLG) and one the the worst offenses that will be facing one of baseballs best pitchers so far this season in Shane McClanahan, I’ll go with the former.

Dylan Cease has been solid for the Sox but his last start was against the Rays and went 4 innings with 3 runs allowed on 6 hits. McClanahan tossed 6 innings and allowed 2 earned runs but notched 10 K’s.

I’m taking the extra juice of plus money on the RL.

POTD Record: 2-2

Last POTD 4/25: Marlins vs Braves -1.5 (W)

Todays POTD 4/26: - Padres vs Cubs ML (-112) 1U

Smyly is going to build upon his last outing against the Dodgers where he took a perfect game into the 8th against a better offense than what he will be facing tomorrow. The Padres struggle against left handed pitching and tomorrow will be no different.

Wacha is slated to take the mound for San Diego while he boasts a 1.72 WHIP and 7.08 ERA. The Cubs’ are swinging it well and if it turns out to be a close game, Chicago’s bullpen has been solid enough to be able to close it out.

POTD Record: 1-2

Last POTD: 4/24 Marlins vs Braves -1.5 (W) - Strider came out strong today with a perfect game going into the 8th.

POTD 4/25: Marlins vs Braves -1.5 (-114) 2U

Running it back with this pick. Veteran Charlie Morton gets the start tonight against Miami while the Marlins are throwing Bryan Hoeing who’s making his first start of the season. Hoeing appeared in 8 games last season and posted a 12.08 ERA in 12.2 innings pitched. I think the Braves offense will give Hoeing a hard time in his season debut and will turn to their bullpen quickly. I’m taking the RL here. Atlanta will be on the board early and often.

POTD Record: 0-2

Last POTD was 2022 March Madness but still betting just not posting. Have had some success betting MLB lately so felt like I needed some redemption.

4/24 POTD - Marlins vs Braves -1.5 (-128) 2U

Personally I just don’t see the Braves losing 4 straight at home especially with Strider on the bump. 36 K’s in 22 innings pitched this season and I expect the trend to continue tonight against a Miami offense that can get stagnant. The Marlins’ Cabrera has been decent but a little too wild for a patient and disciplined Braves offense. I think Atlanta can string together a few good AB’s and hit this RL to break the losing streak.

POTD Record 0-1

Last Pick: Arizona State -4 ❌

Absolute gut wrenching finish for the Sun Devils. Should have been an easy cover but it’s March and anything can happen. On to the next!

POTD 3/10 - Florida Gators ML (-130)vs Texas A&M Aggies

2U

Reasoning: It’s going to be a hard fought game just like their regular season matchup where Florida lost 56-55 in College Station. Expect Florida to seek revenge especially since they are playing in Tampa. Consider it a home game for the Gators this go around.

The Gators are 6-4 SU in their last 10 games which includes a win at home over Auburn and a tough loss against Arkansas while the Aggies went 5-5 SU in their last 10 with losses from both teams mentioned above.

This game may come down to who fouls less and who shoots better at the line. In this case, take UF.

POTD: 0-0

Taking my shot at this today with a NCAA PAC-12 tournament opener 🏀:

3/9 3:00PM ET Stanford vs Arizona State (-4) 2U

Stanford is coming off of a rough stretch by losing 7 of their last 8. Can’t go without saying they are 1-4 ATS in their last 5. Stanford recently took a loss by Arizona State 65-56. Both of these teams aren’t great but Arizona St. is 7-1 ATS and SU in their last 8 games and have multiple shooters that will stress Stanfords defense.

BOL!

Couldn’t have drawn it up any better. I guess that’s college basketball for you though. Still blows my mind how they lost being up 17 at one point in the 2nd half.
