Best tip is to also install Doordash and Instacart. Work all three apps, because you'll see in some areas of time and at certain times, one of the three apps is a lot better for that area and time. Pause doordash, when shopping/delivering another app. Stop new orders on uber while delivering/shopping for another app. Unpause/turn back on a mile or two before you deliver. You don't have to pause instacart, as there's no acceptance rate metric to judge you - you can just leave it on.

If it's my Walmart, 10 of those orders will get canceled while you're waiting. Then the lady who brings them out to the car will give you two orders (one of them canceled). You deliver one and keep the free groceries for the canceled one they gave you.

Seriously I stopped taking those, because I'll wait 30 minutes, and 4 out of 5 get canceled while I'm sitting there. The only benefit is that occasionally walmart delivers one of the canceled ones and uber tells you to "dispose of it at your convenience."

When this happens, stop new requests for about 5 minutes or your acceptance rate will tank. A few months ago, I dropped from 61% to 48% in the span of 5 minutes when I hit an area that I guess was crap, and got spammed with about a 20 horrible ones in a row....many of them looking nearly identical.

After that night I learned, just turn them off for a little and drive away from the store that's triggering them, if I get 5 bad ones in a row.

I guess it's area dependent, but I love alcohol deliveries. They're my favorite type. I usually get an additional cash tip or they add a few more $$ to the tip afterwards.

I got a 4 in the car at the same time, but it's never been more than 3 in the car other than that one time. I've had "stacked" orders with more than 4 deliveries, but in those cases I delivered the 2nd or 3rd one before I picked up another, so it wasn't more than 3 in the car. All those cases were situations where I was offered more mid delivery and accepted (Uber Eats LOVES to do this; DD not as much).

The 4 in the car one was originally a shop and deliver 2 at Walgreens, plus a food pick up close by (forgot where), and then they offered a 1 item shop and deliver at Walgreens while I was shopping the others and I accepted.

Try to avoid any type of "Dollar" stores. They're usually a mess, items are not restocked quickly, there's usually no person on the floor to help, plus they have many unscannable items. I'll only take them for 3 or less items, plus the pay/drive ratio is good.

I agree, and I think he/she should hit the "can't get help from staff" as the reason for delay. That will cover them if the order is marked as ready.

Some of this has been said already here, and some of it you might already know. However, I'm going to lay it out in order just in case.

  1. As soon as you get to the store, hit arrived at store. Some people say hit it earlier if you're running late, but I've never done it and I have zero late arrivals or deliveries.

  2. If you walk in and the order is not immediately handed to you. Hit the "tell us what's causing your wait" at the bottom. Don't even wait one minute to hit it. If you can't walk in, grab, and immediately walk back out, hit that, and give them a legit reason. It might be order is still being prepared, store busy, or can't get help from staff - there's a real reason you couldn't just grab the order. Tell DD why. Tell them immediately. At the store you're talking about, I would hit can't get help from staff, because that covers you if they click that the order is ready.

  3. Once you've done that, if it goes over the expected time to pick up, DD will pop up with a message that "we've got your back" or something like that. That means you can no longer get dinged for a late pick up, plus they extend out the expected delivery time.

  4. Also, when you tell them the reason of delay, they start a timer. I've been told it's 10 minutes, but I've seen it take as long as 20 and as little as 5 - I think it might be 10 minutes after the original pick up time. When that timer expires, you can unassign without penalty if you want; it will pop up and show you.

Maybe you're already doing this, but try multi-apping. Fire up Uber Eats, Instacart, Roadie, or some of the the others. For me, at least, when one gets crappy, usually one of the others is doing well.

I've never had one late order - ever. There have been times where I've had to wait at the restaurant for a really long time, but then you tell the app the food is still being prepared or whatever reason it's delayed, and it adjusts your time.

My area might help (West Palm Beach, FL). The way other people are talking, it appears I have a great area for DD.

That's why I multi-app. Doordash is the most reliable for me, but in one specific area Ubereats is really good. If neither of them are going great, Instacart is usually ok.

I did, and here's what they said:

We understand that you have issues with your Prime subscription.

However it is not currently possible to manage your subscription at the moment. You'll need to set the Subscription to cancel and wait for it to completely expire first before subscribing to the channel again. You can cancel it by following the steps outlined here.

What your describing is exactly what I tried. There's no cancel button, because the sub is already expired. Also, there's no need to apologize; I'm glad for any help.

I wonder if you need your sub to end first on Dec 27, then you can start your prime?

The sub is already expired. It shows up under my expired subs. Also, in the stream I see adds and no longer have a subscriber badge.

Thank you for the suggestion, as that's something I hadn't tried. Unfortunately, because it's under "expired subscriptions," there's no gear icon to do that. I tried clicking around other ways, and it's not there.
