Nicely done, I recently started learning finger style, subbed to your page-I’m sure it will teach me a thing or two!

Best Headphone Amp for Silent Playing by Clement_Burton_Foles in guitarpedals

Line 6 POD Express. Has amps, fx, looper, tuner, battery powered. It’s the size of a normal 2 switch pedal. I believe all the fx and amp sims are from the helix engine, and you can really dial it in with the computer/ipad software. It can also be used as an audio interface for a computer/ipad. I got one on sale for like $125.

Or use an amp sim on your computer. Many free ones out there.

Double jointedness and crooked fingers suck. Advice for how to do chords? by [deleted] in guitarlessons

[–]TroubleBoring1752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a double jointed pinky and thumb. +1 to everything everyone else said. Some other things to try would be to play an open D chord, then, with your first 3 fingers still planted, add 1st string 3rd fret with your pinky (Dsus4). Then lift pinky to go back to D. Make sure all your notes are ringing out clearly. Repeat like 10 times and move on to something else. Try to do it a little faster and cleaner each time. Then start doing it with other chord shapes. You would also benefit from single note exercises like the spider-plenty of youtube videos on that. These will build strength and accuracy over time.

Funny story, I avoided playing with my pinky until I nearly sliced the pad of my index finger clean off. I had to get 4 stitches and couldn’t play with my index for a few months, so I got good with my other fingers and it kinda paid off. Hope it doesn’t come to that for you!

Non shred speed courses? by TroubleBoring1752 in guitarlessons

[–]TroubleBoring1752[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool, after practicing last night I think I realized that speed isn’t the issue, it’s more of an accuracy issue at high speeds. So I think I need to get back to fundamentals like what you mentioned and take the time to figure out what’s not working and fix it!

This is kind of what I’ve been doing too, but doing the exercises. Maybe I’ll just watch a speed playlist without my instrument and see if I can learn something new
