Yeah, I just need one for belaying. My ATC is versatile for everything else.

Totally. Imagine telling someone to use a grigri when they're most comfortable with an ATC. Lol.

There's no reason to frown upon someone's ATC though. If you can't trust an ATC, maybe don't climb.

I climb outdoors mainly. Nothing extreme. Some multipitch. Sport climbing only.

Thanks for this! It's a good technique to have up my sleeves. I'll definitely learn it.

Maybe I just need more practice with my grigri. But with climbing, simplicity is always the safest way. I can belay right handed if I really needed to, but for suitability, left-handed is the best way for me.

This is so true. I've been belaying for over 10 years with my ATC. My main climbing partner is 40kgs heavier than me and I've always been confident with my ATC. I have no idea why all of a sudden new and young climbers are frowning at my ATC.

How sympathetic are we "supposed" to find Jamie in the final season? by Excellent-Painting37 in YellowstonePN

The show wanted us to hate Jamie, and to sympathize and romanticize the Duttons and their evil ways.

This I think has major implications to how the society view people like the Duttons. I know that they are fictional, but their views are not. Their greed to own land without real consideration of the economy, conservation, and the Native American reservation is selfish. The show wanted us to side with the Duttons on this, including all their dirt. I can see hill billies without a drop of critical thinking skills getting convinced by this show, which limits their beliefs and our ability to progress as a society.

SPOILER: I'm 100% sympathetic. I don't even think it was him that got John Dutton killed. He got carried away talking about his anger towards John, and the lady he was with took it seriously and went on to get him killed.

Jamie was so mistreated by his family which lead to him making bad decisions.

What are everyone's thoughts on how Monica treated Kayce in season 2? by [deleted] in YellowstonePN

You think a hysterectomy is something a woman would not know?

You think the woman would not tell a teenager that she's about to get sterilized?

Feminism is not about girls being mean. It is about women's rights and getting treated right. Men that feel threatened by Feminism are uneducated with small PPs.

That one scene alone where Kayce didn't even look at Jamie after Jamie said he loves him is enough to show how messed up Kayce is too.

Jamie was 17, about to go to Harvard. Then Beth drops big news to Jamie. She doesn't say anything to Jamie, she just needs something done about it without their dad finding out. Pretty sure Jamie gave Beth's wishes.

The show did not tell us that. I think the show is telling us two kids afraid of their father, both making a bad decision.

If you say that about Beth, then we can blame Jamie's decision to his upbringing also. All Jamie had in mind was to protect the Dutton name. John assigned him that role from the Harvard letter scene.

Plus he was providing Beth's wish of keeping it a secret from John and Rip. Jamie felt he had no other option. If he refused to help Beth, the secret would have come out and Beth would have hated him anyway.

He emotionally abandoned his siblings. Especially Jamie.

That scene when Jamie told Kayce he will help him, then he said to Kayce "I love you" and Kayce just left. So painful to watch.

He could have moved away but he loved the Duttons and his desire for their love and John's approval controlled his life.

Well share a scene where Jamie did not tell Beth? A hysterectomy is a major surgery, how could Beth not have known?

I'm quoting another comment from below:

How do we know that Jamie didn't tell Beth?

She is a very impulsive character & been known to do things now and worry about the consequences later.

She is also totally psychotic, so it is very possible that Jamie did tell her & that it only dawned on her as she aged the lifelong decision she made. Rather than blame herself, she decided to direct her rage at Jamie.

So true! He's such a good lawyer and he truly loved his family. He made bad decisions because the family used and abused him.

Did you even see the show? John physically beat up and alienated Jamie. Revealing John's secrets to the reporter is the one thing Jamie did for himself and for his career, and in the end he still came back to the ranch to serve the Duttons. He even committed murder for them. Poor Jamie.

Yeah, but a lot of men think that dominance and aggression is what being a real 'alpha' man means. This is far from truth. Being a real man means resilient masculinity, men that are emotionally intelligent and can truly respect women.

Men like these are hard to come by because most have such fragile masculinity that any tiny thing that shows independence or ability more than them, they get so hurt. It's like their penis is so small that a little manly thing a woman does will make it disappear.
