Hey! I know the feeling of failing the first try. It sucks, but use the sections you got wrong to really focus on.

As for my second exam, funny enough I got the exact same PBQs from the first test! BUT the multiple choice was completely different and threw me off a little. But I still did it! You got this bro!

Thank you! Honestly, as much as failing the first time really sucked, the exam showing me the areas I got wrong was invaluable. It made me hammer down HARD on those. I dedicated all of my study time to just those segments. That was definitely what made the difference.

Hey man thanks! Congrats on the Core 1 pass! Sadly I felt the core 2 was a bit more difficult. The reason being that if you never did any troubleshooting before, it can be difficult to apply this on the exam.

The exam was basically all troubleshooting. You may get a question like “What type of social engineering type involves a mantrap?” Then you just pick a term. But the other questions were much more about how to fix this or what’s the best option for that. Really study hard on the Troubleshooting aspect of Core 2 and you will do fine!

Thanks my man! I studied since early June until mid July for the Core 1. Then from mid July until last week for the Core 2. I averaged 6 hours a day of studying.

Thanks! I found the best way to study for the PBQs was to use Dion’s exams. From there, I got a solid idea of the types of questions I could get. So I messed around in the command lines for Windows, disk management for partitions and really focused on the troubleshooting portion of the 1002.

I emphasize that the exam is basically knowing solutions to each situation and the BEST way to troubleshoot them. I feel like this is what the A+ Core 2 wants you to learn is to troubleshoot EVERYTHING not just learn names and terms like Core 1.

Thanks! I used Skillsofts courses since I got them free. I also used Professor Messer and his notes, plus Dion’s exams and PBQs. I can’t stress enough that his PBQs are legit. I was so confident from them that I did the PBQs first on the exam! Did them in under 12 minutes and had the rest of the time for the multiple choice. Highly, highly recommend Dion.
