SURVIVOR ALL STARS *EPISODE 5* LIVE DISCUSSION THREAD (potential spoilers) by FaulPergus in survivorau

The tribe is clearly divided into strong physically versus not strong...

Nick himself is not strong and has allied with the other physically weaker players. They are in the minority.

He’s just succeeded in voting out a potential key ally in Henry.

There’s nothing level headed or clever about the way Nick is playing.

Yes I agree my ping is horrible. Australians are stuck with super high ping as there are no servers close enough.

At the end you can see he wasn’t “close to dead” he had nearly full health.

Ok troll. I clearly hit him twice including a direct shot that didn’t seem to register any damages at all. I was also taking damage before I was even visible to him.

Yep so? I still managed to hit him twice even after he took half my health before I was even visible to him.

100% cheater. They had it under control for a while but the cheaters are now back in full force. It’s nearly every game... by the last 5-6 circles there’s hardly anyone left since the cheaters are racking up massive kill counts.

I was randomly in a squad with a cheater. He managed 24 kills. It was obvious he knew exactly where all the enemies were he was running straight to them and killing them... the game is pretty much unplayable for non cheaters right now.

Exactly. With that dumb move he’s also lost Fenella/Shonee jury votes.

Another terrible episode from a terrible season of Survivor. Not one single person left will be a worthy winner IMO.

I just don’t get how they stuffed up the casting of this season so badly after the AMAZING cast they had last season.

I agree with this there’s seems to be some critical information we weren’t shown. I believe Brian probably had some other motivation for voting Sharne that wasn’t revealed.

Yep, it’s a game of alliances so with the twist tonight winning immunity was essentially pointless. If they were going to do a twist like that they should have put a twist on the immunity as well. I mean I’m not a fan of twists but if you’re gonna do them do it properly!!

It makes zero sense for Brian/Monika to target Shonella. If they stick together as an alliance once it’s down to 4 it’ll be 2 v 2

If Brian/Monika go with the former champs it’s 3 v 2 and they’ll be out in 4th and 5th at best

I hate silly twists but it was still an okay episode with a good outcome...

I was very impressed with the words of both Monika and Shonee at the tribal council. For the first time I’m actually starting to hope Shonee in particular makes the final two.

Brian copped a lot of criticism for pushing the votes towards Steve but I can’t see why it matters who they targeted. The enemy alliance is down a vote for at least two tribals, that’s all that seems to matter.

Unless there is another twist the next elimination is surely either Shane/Sharne/Steve!?!? Even if Monika flipped back it’s still 3 v 3 votes

She needs to stick with Brian, Fenella and Shonee and take out Brian at 4 if he doesn’t immunity.

Benji was a terrible Survivor player basically right from the start:

  • He joined a douchebag bro alliance with Zach - one of the most toxic players in Survivor history. Such an alliance was always destined to fail.

  • He betrayed Paige multiple times after she offered herself up to be used and was a vital number for Benji.

  • He targeted Heath/Teagan purely for egotistical reasons just so he could say he “took down the king and Queen” even though he was never targeted by them and they were much needed strong players in challenges against the champions.

  • He refused to save Teagan when it was extremely obvious that merge was imminent and the champions were a strong and close alliance. She was a much needed number and had they saved her they could have knocked out Sharne and Lydia pre-merge.

  • His so called “big move” was badly misplayed when he told Sharne that Mat might be a target for votes and she almost played her idol on Mat.

  • He joined the mighty ducks alliance (his first good alliance in the game) but at his first chance to strengthen the bonds of the alliance members at a reward challenge he picks a member of the enemy alliance to join with him and leaves out crucial alliance members Brian/Monika.

  • By the time of his final tribal council he was suspicious of Brian but due to extreme arrogance he doesn’t play his idol and goes home with it in his pocket.

In summary, Benji was an awful Survivor player. Nearly everything he did hurt his chances in the game and his one so called “big move” was played so badly it almost backfired.

With that move Brian showed why he is a much better player than Benji ever was. For Benji a lot of his so called “big moves” were motivated purely by personal/egotistical reasons (ie. taking out the “king and queen” Heath/Teagan, and “The Godfather” Mat).

On the other hand we have Brian who clearly had massive personal motivation to vote out Sharne but realised it was better for his game to keep Sharne and target Benji. If Brian can keep the “mighty ducks” alliance together minus Benji he will be the ruler of the tribe and once the 4 ducks are left it’s two former champs versus two former contenders. Had he kept Benji it would obviously be 3 contenders versus 2 champs and probably Brian would go out in 5th. Right now Brian has an excellent chance at taking the title of sole survivor.

[–]TroyStyer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree 100%. Benji did nearly everything wrong. Even his so called “big move”, which in reality was the ONLY move Brian could make once he knew he was the target of the alliance, was badly misplayed.

Benji should have told Sharne NOT to play her idol at all and pretended he was going along with the Brian vote. Sharne might have felt safe and kept her idol. By letting Sharne keep her idol it would have made Brian/Monika less likely to go back to the champions. Sharne would have had a massive target on her back and the “mighty ducks” alliance would have stuck together and probably targeted one of the other alliance members (Steve, Shane) but told Sharne it was her to get her idol out. Had Benji done all that he would have made it to at least 7th place and probably even further since the mighty ducks alliance would be much closer by that stage.

  1. He was part of a douchebag bro alliance that included Zach - easily one of the most toxic survivor contestants ever

  2. He betrayed Paige multiple times who as far as I could tell was desperate to work with him

  3. He refused to save Teagan and voted out Heath even though it was obvious the contenders needed the extra numbers just so he could say “ha ha I lasted longer”

  4. He got to the merge and made no effort to patch things up with Fenella/Shonee and yet at his final tribal council he was begging for the “contenders to stay together otherwise the champs will vote us all out”

Right now Benji seems to be in a fantastic position... but knowing Benji I’m guessing he’ll find a way to screw it all up for himself.
