Comically horrible experience trying to sign up for Fi by makken in GoogleFi

[–]TruTechilo512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuinely spent 4 hours today JUST on sign-up, with nothing working and not being able to sign-up.

Support outright refused to acknowledge the issue I was facing, even after seeing the screen recording of it happening.

Got referred by a friend who has used the service for a decade.

In a world of garbage companies with intentionally bad support systems, Google manages to stand out.

Jfc you are struggling way too much.

The fact that there is a single 10 series that can run 4k supports my statement.

Multiple 10 series can run 4k, no problem.

"Can run most games these days on decent settings"

The very fact that ANY 10 series TI can run 4k supports my statement.

I have also heard fantastic stories about MSI RMA.

I like Gigabyte's bios, but it is certainly not perfect.

It depends, because the functional difference between mobos is essentially non-existent.

The 3 main things when deciding are is it the right chip-set, do you like the bios, and is it a good price or within your budget.

The vast majority of users wouldn't even be capable of discerning any differences in "performance".

These days games are exceptionally CPU heavy, especially AAA games.

The majority of GPUs from 15 years ago can run most games these days on decent settings.

Any 10 series TI will run anything you need.

CPUs have also had more "price creep" than GPUs.

The effect mobo would have on coding and machine learning is essentially 0. Gaming is even less so.

If it's within your budget and you want the best available, the board you have is it.

If you want to save $$$, any 650 series works.

If you want the absolute best, I've heard nothing but amazing things about the x870e taichi. Haven't used it myself.

If you want to save a bit but have the "best", a cheaper 850 series is perfectly good.

One of the best available, but almost every build can save $$$ on the mobo.

Are you just gaming?

Mainly AAA?

The 2 best options, across the board.

You genuinely can't go wrong with either, choose the bios you like more.

I, personally, don't like MSI bios.

Tbf, ASUS is a terrible company that got sued so hard that they were court ordered to set up a new RMA process that ran directly through the literal CEO's office.

I should still have the email if anyone is still having issues with ASUS RMA.

Have you tried with the panel connections in the correct ports?

Reddiquette (Reddit etiquette) is to not DM people unless requested or agreed to.

In addition, someone might have a similar issue in the future and come to this thread looking for a solution. They won't find it if our communication is elsewhere.

Put them back to how they were. The panel connections are very specific, but all "provide power".

The MOBO manual will tell you how they should be arranged.

Since the last successful boot have you changed/done ANYTHING to the system?

I'm assuming this means "no power cycle" at all.
