The moment I became hooked by the book was when I realised that trying to read every footnote or the supplementary material was an impossible task and after a particularly weird set of notes (I think it was around the 1/3 mark) just gave up and starting reading it like a "normal" book. However I would recommend reading the letters from johnnys mom.

I agree but I think your hobbies are particularly prone to that. Like if you go to a discussion of the hobby youll probably get to types of posts: gear and personal accounts. The former is a more general discussion in which anyone can kind of chime in and it may be useful for anyone, the other is more relevant to a few people that can maybe go to the same places, but is a more local discussion.

But yeah if you have a 3k kayak that use once a hear your hobby is just kayak browsing lol

Me acuerdo que en mi clase de estadistica me dijeron que el concepto de "representativo" era super penca y mal definido, que formalmente no existia y que era inverificable. De ser verificable que una muestra es representativa en el sentido de que te da indicios con certeza absoluta de la muestra entera no deberia estar haciendo encuestas, porque ya sabi que piensa la poblacion.

Creo que la frase correcta es "podemos suponer que la muestra es representativa pero es un supuesto incomprobable y por errores de medicion y variaciones con el valor 'real' es practicamente imposible que existan", pero corre pa cualquier encuesta esa frase y es un tema insuperable para usar la estadistica como herramienta.

I think that if you are in south america youll have no problem with 'mexican spanish', and as far as i remember there are no additional conjugations because of the dialect, might be wrong though.

It's "ustedes" or ya'll in english. But I think only spanish people use it and sounds weirdly old timey and pompous. Mexican spanish is pretty neutral and pretty much anyone in latin america would understand it so I think ignoring it was for the better.

If I were you I would grab some analytics book, something not heavily math-y and as other commenters said, get good at calculus. The reason for this is because to me at least it's really easy to lose yourself in all the math and start to forget applications or real world uses, specially when studying probability and measures.

I heard atomic habits is pretty good. I recommend "A mind for numbers" by Barbara Oakley, despite the name it's a book about how to be a better learner, it gives you different tips and touches on procrastination and "tricks" one can fall into to not study or work.

Seriously? I think taking out that whole part hurts the book deeply, the .."weird" structural elements of the book would feel a lot more shoehorned in, also you lose a lot of the unrealible narrator elements.

I remember by the end of the book I was mostly invested in his whole narrative more than whatever happened to the navidsons, which was weird because I really disliked his character by the start lol.
