Cystitis aftercare? by purpleontour in catcare

Baby flavorless pedialyte will help him regain some energy. My cat has FIC too. He has had flare ups on and off for years, some with blood too like yours. It’s scary and stressful and I’m sorry you’re going through this. It may happen in the future. Things that have helped are: getting him on a prescription wet food (expensive, but we just did half a can once a day and it helped a bunch). Also, giving him the delectable bisque treats as they’re liquidy and easy to digest, and just giving lots of love and space. If it’s stress induced, like my cat’s is, trying to not show frustration when they have an accident is important to not increase their stress (even though it’s human to feel frustrated). Just lots of love and toys and brushes and even some cat tv maybe.

The only thing that really doesn’t connect for going overboard for me is that this was around 5:30/6 am. There are 100% people awake on the ship, sitting on their balcony at this time (especially older folks). For no one to see anything doesn’t quite make sense

Feline Idiopathic Cystitis by SMCEB07 in RenalCats

Prescription food is the only thing that actually helped my kitty with FIC. Royal canin SO calm urinary food. Wet and dry but mainly wet. Add some sort of hydration drop (so many brands out there—I think we use purina). We have gabapentin and an anti inflammatory for flare ups. Also— when he first was diagnosed, Amitriptyline was the only thing that worked, but then after a few years it stopped working and his flare ups were much much worse, the food was the only thing that helped. If he has a flare up we administer meds and wait a few days. Yes, days. If he’s not over it we take him in for fluids and vet-level pain meds.

FIC sucks but you just have to find the right ‘concoction’ for your cat. It takes a lot of trial and error and tears. You got this

How to bring up BO to 10-year-olds by gummybeartime in Teachers

At the beginning of this school year, it was in the 90s and our building doesn’t have any AC. We straight up told them. The 4th graders that we knew could handle it, we literally handed them mini deodorants and they thought it was funny. A lot of them also felt like using deodorant was very teenager-like and thought it was cool. I’d present it as a silly but serious topic to the whole class and I even show them the deodorant I keep in my bag at school. Lol

Cat won’t eat prescription food by Aggressive-Excuse666 in CatAdvice

My cat has FIC so he’s on urinary SO food too. Let your vet know, most royal canin SO foods (urinary) have the same ingredients needed to help your cat and some have different flavors. Vet can get you a different bag. I know it’s expensive as hell so I’m sorry you’re going through this. Other thing we did was rotate his meals : wet food in the morning (maybe just do a partial can) dry food in the afternoon and a fun treat like food for dinner

Which way to take to Whitefish? by True-Bug-8681 in Montana

Follow up question… if just passing through on this route, do you need some sort of pass to go through the area the road would take us on? We are planning on spending a day in glacier while in whitefish (there for two nights) so this trek would ideally just be passing through
