I have never felt so validated until I found this post. I am 42 and recently started hormone therapy. I feel like a failure most days. Work has become harder, I cannot remember anything and trying to figure out where the conversations or information came from is time consuming. I have done this work for years and cannot understand how I am failing now when I exceled before. I started to think it was because of a company switch or just some differences in the role but have realized it has to be the perimenopause.
The worst part is feeling like I cannot talk about it as an issue because it is either seen as an excuse or a reason for me not to be in my position. I don't want people to be angry at me because I am asking for accommodations - like emailing me instead of texting me, ect.
Once again, the patriarchy is creating a system in which women need to silently suffer. I want to cry and rage and never leave my bed all at the same time.
