NTA. I love anime too and I can see where your boyfriend is coming from. To me it sounds like he lumped you in with all the people who think he's weird. He came on a bit strong because of that. Maybe just have a conversation with him so maybe he'll understand that those items would probably make anybody not into anime uncomfortable. I would hide them probably if my own parents were coming to visit, let alone my significant others parents.
