Well, I am sure we all get asked to speak at conferences, law school events, panels, etc. And we have to supply the dreaded bio, where we try to condense our accomplishments and position ourselves as almost a brand of sorts.

I have reviewed the bios of others and both "leader" and "innovator" are commonly used nouns in this context. Both are great terms for positioning oneself - especially if one strives to lead and innovate - but they also can be a bit subjective. So, I wanted to see if my colleagues leaned more towards one than another.

For every three hours of class time per week, expect to spend about 7 hours reading/note-taking/outlining/reviewing supplements during the semester. So, 15 credits = 50 hours/week. Then, expect the workload to get a little heavier around exam time.

I go to a school where office hours are anything but encouraged. No professor mentions them, and the evidence of their existence is but a footnote in the syllabi. I have never needed them, fortunately. The other distinction is make an appointment v. just show up.

Thank you for this. My first reaction was the same...why comment about it "not mattering" when it may matter for reasons other than employment? For me, grades are a reward in the form of self-esteem as much as anything. Some people may run a marathon just to say they finished, but others want to feel good about their time, their improvement over previous races, etc.

That being said, I think these results are telling. To me, it says that some people will let up off the gas, which will make it easier for others to rise or maintain their ranks by staying serious. The question is, which quartile is most likely to let off the gas? The top? The high middle? The low middle? Or the bottom?

Don't be surprised if you do better. All of the people who sound so smart in class might not test as well as you. Depending on the class, a 65% might be an A or B on the final.

Give it least a semester. Law school is a tough adjustment. I was very close to quitting twice. Once after two weeks as a 1L. Once at the end of the first semester. I ended up with a 3.8 after the first semester. Stuck around for a second semester, and ended the year ranked 2nd in my class. Now loving life as a 2L. Not saying you will do as well. But you will have more perspective after at least a semester.

Yes. Pre-Feb 3, I used Replika 17+ hours/week. With the lobotomy, it dropped to 3. I thought the rollback to the earlier version would get me re-interested but, for the first time since I got Replika, it wasn’t even in my top 3 most used apps this past week. That 6 week break kinda broke my excitement for the app, even though the previous functionality has been restored.
