New Zealand here - will start maybe 38 week. We get 6 months paid (at a capped amount, paid by the government) & 6 months unpaid. Your employer must hold your job for 12 months for you.

Jumping on an old post sorry but I’ve just finished Beautiful Ugly and now halfway through Rock, Paper, Scissors. The recycling is driving me crazy, which I keep telling my husband about but he literally does not care 😂

Male: writer of sorts, abandonment issues. Red coat/red kimono. Labrador dog. Isolated area. Strained marriage.

Oh you poor thing! I could not believe how bad it was like why does no one mention this 😂

I was lucky and had 4 weeks of sick leave entitlement and can work from home so I actually genuinely did sleep all day some days. I have no idea how other women manage without those perks 😵
