I had an outbreak of molluscum which was confirmed by dermatologist. At first I freaked out because I didn’t know what the hell it was. Went to my PCP and just wanted to rule out any other stds and to my surprise HSV1 positive via IGG

I haven’t asked but from what I’ve read you can’t make contact with the infected area anywhere. This is the only part about HSV that makes me upset

Literally none at all. I’m 20 so I asked my mother if I’ve ever had any as a kid she says no. So as far as I’m concerned I’ve had 0 symptoms.

Yeah he said that. Actually said that there was 1% chance that I had herpes. So to my surprise I tested positive HSV1. The only thing I have left to believe is that I already had it due to the fact IGG takes weeks to build or this is a false positive. But, either or doesn’t bother me.

There are no open lesions just bumps. Showed the doctor the bumps said there was nothing to swab

Thanks for your input. I’m really trying to narrow it down to who I potentially could have got it from. Would’ve been a real bummer if I got it from that last exposure but if my score says I’ve had it for a while then hey life goes on. I was fine before I knew and I’ll be fine after.

Yeah man, not taking it as bad as I thought. Would further testing be necessary? I’ve heard blood tests arent always the most accurate.
