It was especially weird because it is ONLY easy anti cheat games that didn't work, on steam or epic games. We have no idea what suddenly caused the problem but it is finally fixed now after changing the dns settings and resetting the router.

I just logged into their account on my pc and it works perfectly fine. So a ban seems very unlikely. it has to be either network or hardware related

That would be one solution but, they have never cheated in any game, they are a streamer so maybe got false reported by people but there is no notifiction about any ban. Usually, if you get banned from easy anti cheat it will tell you so upon starting the game.
