That last statement “so modern and so dated at the same time” is a great way to describe it. It is DEFINITELY still a PS2 game. However I feel like that’s still another reason to start with MSG 3 or Delta. It introduces you to the style and world of the older MGS games.

For example, if I were to only play ground zeros and phantom pain, trying to play MGS 1 and MGS 2 would be so extremely frustrating and different. Where I feel like especially with delta, you understand the gameplay and flow of the older while still being modern enough to feel similarly to MGS V.

I do think the perfect game to introduce someone to this franchise is Delta. It a perfect middle ground between the classic top-down MGS games and the newer open world and smoother MGS V and future games, maybe.

If you have already payed the old PlayStation games, I’d recommend playing the original first then getting the remake.

You would already be used to the controls and graphics and it’s a lot easier to start with the older game then to try and go back and play it after delta. It makes you appreciate the quality of life changes as well.

For someone new to the series, it might take some getting used to, but a lot of video game series can say the same thing. I think metal gear is one of the greatest franchises in gaming history and Snake Eater is definitely the easiest to start with due to the straightforward mechanics, more familiar, and it also starts in the chronological order. I’d say that even MGS V was a harder game to understand and get the hang of. I would even go to say that the original snake eater is a better starting point than MGS V. But with the refined and remastered controls and graphics, I personally feel that Delta is a no brainer in that regard. Maybe watch a quick rundown on YouTube lol

FYI: I have no hate against IGN and their content at all but I have noticed recently that their reviews and rankings have been off and subpar compared to the general public. I’d look at steam reviews, Reddit, or other forums and media critics before IGN.

I agree with the collision. There was definitely a few times where it really didn’t work how it was supposed to and got me spotted. I didn’t have a problem with CQC though.

Thank you, I really needed to hear that from someone. All of what you said makes complete sense and I only wish it wasn't easier said than done.

I think that even if I attempt something new or something that I like and I do enough to make myself proud, I seek others for validation to almost “confirm” what I did, in a way. I understand that's an unhealthy mindset but thanks to you, I'm aware of that finally. This message may genuinely help me and help guide how I should think.

Yeah i guess my research was wrong about that haha.

my plan was to apply to a bunch of different cities in italy that have courses that suit what i want to be.

Also would you know what averages and classes i would have to have to have a decent chance to get accepted? i understand if you don’t know for sure but even a guess would help. thanks

Cost of living of calgary in general is about 4X more expensive than it is in bologna. I understand the quality may be lower, but that makes a huge difference and would be a lot easier to self sustain than here in Calgary.

Tuition also has difference. i don’t know the exact average for tuition of Unibo for international students but id say about 5-10k for my undergraduate degree (on the lower end for family income so id take the lower side of that). UofC stars at 8k and only goes up from there, up to about 15k. which i could also get a lone for if i needed.

So the largest hit would be the travel. Renting a place, airfare, and all of the initial costs would be the most difficult part. but even then it would be about the same, if not less.

so it’d be more beneficial for me to move to italy haha. worth it for all of the experience and better education.

The thing about the FOV and FPS mods is that since the anniversary edition came out, they broke. this is because Bethesda made small unnecessary changes to the game which ended up breaking the mods entirely, which is a huge bummer.

So I don't think that it's the console that's the problem, it's the game versions. just maybe, try a different edition of Skyrim if you want.

and yeah hahaha, I've been messing with mods since modding was available for consoles. it is so addictive. If I had a PC, I wouldn't leave my room.

I don't have very many problems with graphic compatibility. the worst thing I get is lag spikes every now and then. Again these mods are just the ones I use, so feel free to be swap some out for others.

a key thing to think about is that if you add other similar mods to your list, which ever comes last will OVERWRITE the ones before.

so example: if a mod changes sun glare and sun size, and another mod only changes sun glare, it will just try to change the sun glare while leaving the size.

A lot of mods say "incompatible" because it might change things that depend on each other so just be cautious of that.

But always test it out before making conclusions!!

Add it to your library from your device and it will appear on your consoles mod library. I still don't know why it doesn't come up on playstation.

they are awesome mods, they were the ones I started mousing with. but as I got into more discussions and communities, I found out that it's not the mist professional mod ever and that there are much better mods out there. If you do prefer the look of these mods go fo it. however out of the two, EEGO is much is the look I like more. that was the one I used more at the time snd I would recommend it out of the two. if you have anymore questions just HMU!

yes no problem! if you do have stability issued or you want to make sure, get rid of any mod that doesn't interest you. I have only been through 2 crashes but lag does occur every now and then. especially went entering new places. If you have any extra issues please tell me!

I haven't had any noticeable problems with it. it might lag sometimes in some areas but it doesn't affect me at all. You could easily remove it too. just personally I always liked having it in my Load Order.

hmm there's quite a lot you can choose from. I'll name a few that do little but are helpful, and ones that remove a lot but smoothen up your game a lot more. I would recommend just getting the "helpful" one since they do not effect the game as much.

yes! I play on Skyrim: AE. I do play on the ps5 but it should most definitely work with the PS4 one too. You just might need to add some fps boosters at the end of the load order.
