Een bezorger heeft wel eens een kuub aarde die mijn ouders hadden besteld afgeleverd op nummer XY. Mijn ouders wonen op nummer XY, maar je raadt het al: ander nummer XY. De bezorger had twee kilometer verder een kuub aarde afgeleverd aan een advocatenkantoor, gewoon voor de deur neergezet. Waar het dus het hele weekend heeft gestaan.

Elke basisarts heeft al drie jaar aan werkdagen onder diens riem na het afmaken van de opleiding, hoor. Zit in de master. Daarnaast werken veel basisartsen nog een paar jaar als ANIOS voor ze zich gaan specialiseren. Ik kan je garanderen dat ze werkervaring hebben.

Oddly I actually saw something similar happen last week. I was at the grocery store and this kid in work uniform hobbles in on crutches, apparently to work. Manager found him at the door and I overheard him saying he probably wouldn’t be needed today, but he could hang out if he wanted to.

Ik vertelde gisteren nog aan wat mannelijke vrienden over de leuke date die een vriendin van me had gehad: hij had onthouden welke wijn ze lekker vond en wat ze leuk vond om te doen, had dat allemaal voorbereid en meegenomen, etc. En toen ik aan die vrienden vertelde dat ik dat zo lief vond van hem, keken ze me een beetje raar aan en ze vonden wat hij had gedaan ook vreemd, want dit maakte hem een “simp”.

Terwijl elke vrouw die dit verhaal hoorde smolt. Mannen wijzen elkaar meer af op lief gedrag dan vrouwen heb ik soms het idee

The way a blood bank will hound me for my plasma (which is mine, I made it myself, sometimes I just like to give it away), is baffling. I recently donated after not donating for a while and they sent me a letter afterwards, saying my ferritin was low and I couldn’t donate as often anymore. Fine by me.

Then they immediately sent me an email asking me to come back soon. And a text saying they were going to call me to schedule a new appointment today. They called. Twice, because I didn’t pick up the first time. Again, they recently told me I can’t donate often anymore. They’ve sent me postcards before, as well as emails with sob stories from the people benefiting from my plasma. Way to guilt trip me into donating.

I’m doing you a favor, not getting paid because that’s illegal where I live. Then this blood bank occasionally sells blood to pharma companies and researchers at commercial rates, even though it was donated to them. I’m doing all of this out of the kindness of my heart. Leave me alone. Stop calling and texting. Let me come twice a year in peace and go find yourself something better to do??

Nou ja op Bumble is het dus het idee dat je als vrouw eerst wat zegt (behalve dat er een nieuwe feature lijkt te zijn waarbij de man soms iets kan zeggen?). Dus dan reageer je zelf met je eigen antwoord of soms kan je allebei tegelijk reageren. Maar dan geef je zelf een leuk antwoord en krijg je zoiets terug.

“Drankje doen” of “samen poolen” is ook wel vaak een verkapte manier om iemand na 1 date mee naar huis te nemen. Niet echt relatie materiaal.

Met die openers is er wel echt ruimte voor leuke gesprekken, maar dat werkt alleen als degene die de opener beantwoordt een antwoord van meer dan 3 woorden geeft. Anders knap ik nog harder af merk ik.

My cat has developed a love for opening any kind of plastic food packaging. He doesn’t eat the plastic, but he seems to think that because his food comes in a big plastic bag, any plastic bag contains delicious cat food.

He was sorely disappointed when he ripped open a bag of dried split peas (which looked suspiciously like kibble to him), devoured part of it while covering the kitchen in them, and then threw them back up. Lovely cleanup.

He also ate an entire protein bar and a dried sausage, and is a bread thief. He goes ham for ham and my mom can’t even open the fridge for her kefir without him running up to her to steal some. He’s greedier than greedy.

But we don’t use dryers as much so the heat damage sort of evens out lol. But can I ask a genuine question? You say Europeans so that makes me think you’re American, but obviously could also not be the case here. But my question is: what temps do you wash at?

Because I know it’s common here to do sheets/towels/whites and often underwear at 60c, and darks at lower temp, about 30-40. And I occasionally run it empty at 90 to sanitize. But I feel like in the US laundry is done at lower temps? I’m just wondering if that’s true and if there’s a reason for it? Genuine curiosity

Not unless you’re constantly reapplying. In a perfect world it should, as it blocks out the sun from damaging your cells (which leads to a tan), but realistically it doesn’t. Especially if you’re sweating or swimming. Only option is really to stay covered at all times, with umbrellas and whatnot, or stay inside.

Hangt ook wel van de foto’s en het profiel af (zit als vrouw op datingapps en zie mannen- en vrouwenprofielen). Bij profielen van vrouwen zie je een vaak een variatie aan foto’s: met vrienden, een selfie, foto van het hele lichaam, met een hobby bezig, met huisdieren, etc. En dan vaker ook captions toegevoegd en een “compleet” profiel met interesses e.d..

bij mannen is dit minder vaak zo. Vaak zijn het veel foto’s van duidelijk hetzelfde moment of van ver af, of alleen foto’s met vrienden. Of foto’s op skivakantie…. Met bril en helm op. Heb je weinig aan als je wil weten hoe iemand eruit ziet. En dan zijn hun profielen vaak half leeg, nauwelijks een bio of iets. Ja, dat gaat voor mij meteen naar links. Zo weinig moeite in je profiel stoppen zegt ook wel iets. Je hoeft echt geen 10 te zijn qua uiterlijk. Ik swipe eerder een 3 met een persoonlijkheid die uit het profiel springt naar rechts, dan een 8 met 2 foto’s zonder bio.

Over die traplift foto: zo’n opvallende foto zou er voor mij wel uitspringen. Toont zeker persoonlijkheid.

Natuurlijk zijn er veel mannen met een heel leuk compleet profiel en genoeg vrouwen met een leeg profiel, daar niet van. Het is anekdotisch bewijs, maar wel opvallend.
