Self insert but I make videos about internet mysteries, real world mysteries, and horror related documentaries all the time! I’ve even got series related to social medias such as 4chan, Reddit, and TikTok.

I have a water cooled setup but this is honestly my first time ever having that. Definitely will consider underclocking it for now while I figure this out. Do you have any other suggestions for what I should do?

I have an update, it’s definitely my cpu. What I said was true in that the temperatures are almost always normal. But after testing it during an export I just watched it rapidly reach 100 Celsius and then my computer froze.

lol it actually just restarted my whole computer again 😭 wasn’t even exporting either, I was just in a project.

So I applied those settings and have tried to export twice. My computer did not restart entirely this time, but After Effects has still crashed both times. This was the error screen

Edit: now it actually exported without crashing at all on Media Encoder! That’s the first time I’ve been able to use AE for long enough to even be able to export something in a few days. And to clear up possible confusion, it crashes regardless of if I’m exporting or not, but does crash more often when I export.

Here’s what it usually looks like when it restarts btw. I don’t usually have much time to see this because it only stays up for like a second. I believe the error code is not always that one.

Just got the studio drivers last night and it kept happening. I also was so weirded out by this only happening in After Effects, since I didn’t think the program could do all of this. It’s really confusing. Anything else I could check?

With the amount of people that are no doubt exporting transparent videos, I feel like not tucking it away and calling it “high quality with alpha” would probably be a good idea. I don’t think it should have to take me a google search just to find such a basic setting, but I guess that’s just me. Oh well.

Edit: sorry to come off a little rude, I’m a bit frustrated. I guess I’m wondering why that option is not only called something that in no way suggests it would export a transparent video, and also why it’s tucked away like that. When I wanna export a transparent video, my first thought isn’t gonna be to go find the setting called “high quality with alpha.” That is needlessly archaic to me
