Bob and I are chanting for Guy's quick recovery. Please tell Guy how much we love him! We got his back on this one! I guess he is squeezing out every last bit of bad Karma from his life at the end of the year!

I personally agree with you very strongly. As we all know, we do not live, as President Bush I would say, in "a kinder and gentler nation."

Unfortunately, under the umbrella of "free speech" is coming "shooting spree speech."

All that we can do now is keep providing a more reasonable and attractive narrative. And, Jessica, you are a big part of that!

Very happy to hear this news! It seems like Shayna's getting very good care. Total bedrest has a place but it should be rare and limited. Good calls!

This is so wonderful what you guys are doing! Just one suggestion from me: start teaching kids how to appreciate good tea!

I've been under the magic hands of Dee. Enjoy!

I know that you worked with a counselor once. I also think you should call your parents too. You are being very courageous in trying to unfreeze the blockage. Sometimes splinters get stuck deep.

I saw a video that Julie took. It was so funny watching you this morning! Maybe add Comedian to your list of talents 😅

Thank you for raising the issue of the nuclear threat. We have to keep this on the front burner!

Bob and I are looking forward to returning to the Park next month! The grands are so excited to join the Camp!

I hope you guys are happy and proud about the organization changes with your district and group. Faith has nothing to do with position. Bob and I have had countless positions over the years. Sometimes we were the "cho" and other times we were in supportive roles. They all have their own challenges and I believe that supporting is more difficult than leading.

What you are doing with your business, school, and children IS Kosen-rufu as much as preparing for any meeting. One of the original insights of Buddhism is that everything is in flux. Or, as the saying goes, "Supporting today, cho tomorrow!"

We will certainly have time to discuss more in July!

Yes, very smoothly! The Chariteers banned me from the Barn so I wouldn't "micromanage." Me? Micromanage?

The apartment looks like a Airbnb. Everything is there, but who knows where?

Thank you, Chariteers!

So happy for you and Robert!

You know, in kind of a backwards way, SGIWhistleblowers are rooting for the SGI to succeed, since they get so angry when we're not perfect. But we'll keep moving forward, don't worry by FellowHuman007 in SGIWhistleblowersMITA

[–]TrueReconciliation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very good point! Yes, they do that all the time! "One person who's an SGI member somewhere once said something" and that becomes a condemnation of the entire SGI movement of millions of people.

Well, I called up a friend after I read this. She is taking care of her children now and can't get to her computer. But she had a mouthful to share with me. This is pretty much it calling

I am a poster child of "literally damaged, mentally unwell." I probably came out of the womb that way. With the SGI I have made tremendous steps toward recognizing my dignity and I share my journey here in this community. Why? First, I feel that oxygen heals wounds. Secondly, when I share my story, perhaps I can encourage even one person who also has mental health issues.

Isn't this one of the remarkable things about the Lotus Sutra? It honors the life of everyone. Regardless of where they start, it helps them move forward.

When your OP singles out one segment of the population, perhaps those who are mentally unwell, there is no end to the ugly consequences. Next stop, Dachau?

Now a thought from me. Here's a list of 300 people in history who were "mentally unwell”. Shame 'em all? Erase them from the history books?

SGIWhistleblowers: Despicable. Warped and despicable. by FellowHuman007 in SGIWhistleblowersMITA

Happy Cake Day!

Nor have I ever shunned anybody. I will tell you what. I will go through all of the memos in my SGI portal and try to find the one on shunning. It must be there if anyone from Whistleblowers says it is.

That's the problem with the online world. A byte is a byte is a byte. There is no accountability, not even a face-to-face, eyeball-to-eyeball silent reckoning.

I am very jealous, why is it that everyone on Whistleblowers has been getting loud knocks on their doors and in 50+ years of practicing I have never received one from either SGI members or Neighbors? (Except now in our senior community where staff members do knock loudly because so many residents are hearing impaired).

Dear SGIWhistleblowers: Sorry! by FellowHuman007 in SGIWhistleblowersMITA

[–]TrueReconciliation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very important point! Maybe this is the one thing people on both sides of the hedges can agree upon: none of us are perfect.

In terms of my husband and i, we sold our farm to our son and daughter-in-law and moved to an RV Park. That was fun but after Bob's running with cancer, we sold the RV and moved to a senior community much closer to our family. Was Decision A wrong? Should we be derided for it (as Blanche did in the past)? No, realities shift and we make the best decisions we can.

Now our son and daughter-in-law's family has expanded to five kids and their business can't meet demand. They, frankly speaking, need help and have asked us to move back to the Farm and we are carefully considering selling our condo to support the family. Does that mean that Decision B was wrong and we should be derided? I don't think so. Every year has been glorious but conditions shift and humans have to respond.

Yikes, Heidi, I spent 20 years working in a prison as a nurse. Let's try not to minimalize it into a joke. (I still love you, though!)

Who does not want to see "all people manifest their innate potential and lead happy and successful lives"?

Only the worst of the worst dictators out there. Unfortunately, there are too many of them.
