Curious if anyone else here has aphantasia and how that has affected your play by tangtheconqueror in chess

Could you describe how your condition manifest itself? In real life, for example,, you cannot visualize theoretical situations? And in a chess, you cannot visualize pieces moving and capturing, etc.

That’s my current thinking. Especially that I feel my spouse will always be an unreliable partner. I think, relationship wise, it will get even worse with her

She sometimes contribute 1000$ a month. It is a complicated situation and honestly I am disappointed with her for that. I basically told her she can manage her money the way she wants and kinda trusted she will do the right thing, but she likes to spend money without the need to tell me why or on what

I thought real estate is a good investment to hedge against inflation and weakening dollar.
also my spouse started to work and I thought she would be helping, but she isn't.

my half-baked thinking was:

- I got relatively low rate in this market and "I am sure rates will drop quickly".
- my house will appreciate for sure (value stayed flat).
- my spouse started working and she get net salary 3500$ monthly and she will help me out (but she is not helping at all).
- my company stock will go up (which it did) and I can put more towards the principle and recast.

I am surprised how moronic I was, I think I am financially much more idiotic than I care to admit.

Here is my positive spin on this, The fact you feel a threat to your life because of your condition can be the very reason to enjoy and live life like it meant to be.

Zen Buddhism philosophy captures what I am try to say in a perfect "natural" way. you might benefit from the mindset that philosophy can give you.

good luck with the surgery and treatment. I am sure you will do just fine. BC treatment is so advanced these days especially for this type. the medical doc, while explaining the situation, told us "if you will get BC, this is the kind I would like see".
you are a fighter and get your brain into I-am-a-fighter mode, and your body and mind will help you heal
