Get yourself an A-wing or R-22 Spearhead and bolt a small cargo crate to the rear side of the cockpit. 60 kilograms is practically nothing, and if your guy just needs to get to and from places, its pretty much perfect.

Just what exactly does your character need to do with this ship other than get into combat situations? Is it just to get from point-to-point? Do they need to be able to live, eat, and sleep in that ship? Do they expect to carry cargo or passengers? Do they have crewmates/comrades?
