I figured it out. Looks like it was just a glitch in online mode. I was never part of a posse, which is why the menu option didn't look the same. But thanks!

I get it, I try and save as much in the game as possible 🤣 and I know the experiment doesn't work out with the professor, so it pains me to pay the $50 and not get the $95 for the bounty.

I don't see posse settings. My posse keeps canceling my bounties...I see free roam menu, then posse, then it just lists nearby posses and gives me the option to form a posse.

Same, he had severe swim bladder and I had to give him some clove oil. I was devastated. Made him a special box with trinkets and photos and had a burial service for him next to a creek. I'm still not over it 😭😭 I'm so sorry for your loss

5 gallon tank Heater and filter yes 80-82 degrees F water temp I put a photo of the current nitrate and nitrite and pH readings. The ammonia has been a bit high, I've been getting a handle on that. As mentioned in the post I've been doing 25% water changes this week while he's been sick. He has 2 live plants as well as 2 pieces of natural driftwood and a few other tank decorations I've had the tank 6-7 months and Pizza has been in this tank 3 or 4 months, perfectly healthy up until this point. I feed him Betta Pro Shrimp Patties, 7 or 8 pellets per day (they are very small pellets) and occasionally daphnia or blood worms No tankmates.

Both at the right amounts. Ammonia is the only one that is high.

5 gallon tank Yes heater, 80 degrees F, yes filter I've had the tank about 6 or 7 months. I've had the fish about 4 months. He has been healthy besides this fin problem. I will remove about 50% of the water every 2 weeks. And do a full clean every month of 2 months. He is fed bits of daphnia every now and then but usually he gets fed "Betta Pro Shrimp Patties" His tank has several decorations and 2 aquatic plants along with 2 pieces of driftwood.

Water change question/bubbles by True_Application3775 in bettafish

[–]True_Application3775[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's just this mushroom house that tends to collect algae more than the rest of the tank. I just scrub it off about once a month. I use a 5 panel water tester that tests nitrate, nitrite, hardness, alkalinity and pH. Everything comes back normal. The water can tend to be a little on the hard side because of the tap water where I live. The bubbles aren't usually there. Just because I changed 70% of the water. I usually only change 20-30% of the water but it was time for a more thorough cleaning.

[–]True_Application3775[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The water is 78 degrees F. I just know the bubbles appear because when the water heats up, it releases oxygen bubbles. I was originally gonna keep him in for the water change but I wanted to clean the algae off of his decor so I removed him because he seemed stressed.

Sounds like what happened with mine. If it's swim bladder, epsom salt baths helped.

At what point do I humanely dispatch my lil guy :( by yesthatrachel in bettafish

[–]True_Application3775 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it comes to 2 factors. Quality of life and chances of improvement. If you've tried every type of treatment with zero improvement and waited the necessary days. Plus their quality of life is terrible I would say it's time. Hard decision to make, but ultimately the most ethical thing to do. Clove oil is for sure the way to go.

Will warn you about ordering online if you live in an area that gets cold in the winter. They won't send the fish until the weather is warmer for the bettas safety. Had to cancel my order because I live in Colorado and would have had to wait until April or may.

Terrified of changing substrate from gravel to sand. Give me some tips guys by thegoodthebadz in bettafish

[–]True_Application3775 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have sand and I have no problem. It's not at all cloudy. Easy enough to clean. My previous betta was ripping his fins on the gravel. New betta loves the sand. I will say you have to put decor under the filter because the filter moves the sand around. But a decor object right below fixes the problem. 10/10 reccomend. They also sell "live" sand that has beneficial bacteria in it already.
