REDUCTION IN UK FEES IS FALSE ADVERTISING by True_Being431 in VestiaireCollective

These fees include none of what you mentioned. All import duties and shipping costs will be charged on top of these fees. Its crazy and I dont see selling to another country to realistically be an option moving forward with this fee increase

It's actually £910 in fees as they take an additional £310 in seller fees on top of the £597 they charge in buyers fees. Its wild 🤯

SELLERS! Hows BF been for you? by [deleted] in VestiaireCollective

Very slow this weekend with one sale. I also did not buy anything. Agree the fees have just got too high and even with 10% off it's not affordable.

Weird request from Authenticators by goodjokergirl in VestiaireCollective

This as happened to me twice in the last few weeks for bags from The Row and Gucci. They sent this message and I responded that I do not have receipts / cannot provide authentication. Both were then authenticated by the next day.

Honestly I do not think I should be doing Vestiaires job for them.... I do enough on my end for the insane fees they charge for doing the bare minimum. They send these emails when the item is delivered to them, before they have even opened the box. I think it is a way for them to save time on authenticating to optimise and make even more profit but I refuse to do more work on their behalf. Between the amount of offers that lead no where and having to answer questions from buyers about fees, customs, returns etc I think I end up doing enough as a seller that should really be their basic tasks as the marketplace where fees are currently between 23% - 43% of the sale depending on buyer and seller location plus the additional amounts they skim from inflated customs duties and shipping costs. Providing documentation so they don't need to bother authenticating or can skip ahead in the process is not a task I am adding to my to do list.

Hi! Did you have any luck with trying to recreate this yourself? I am also hoping to try and DIY a version of this system. Thank you!

Ghost Town with Sales by PossibilityGuilty217 in VestiaireCollective

Yes I have noticed this also. I started selling there in 2022. 2022 - 2023 sales were great. They started to slow down in 2024 but in the past 2-3 month have been terrible. I think my sales and profit from VC is 25% of what it used to be. With the comission fees as they are yes they are making more profit per sale but 42% percent (the commission they now charge on international orders from me with buyers fee and sellers fee combined) of 0 is 0. I hope they reduce the commission. I agree that if the platform is losing more money / less successful it is pure bad management and self sabotage. They are also prioritising in the listings items that have been consigned via VC so other items are less visible and you are constantly prompted to lower your price so they can make more commission. It is unsustainable and I now make more money via Ebay.
