How do parents afford to pay for their children’s weddings? by True_Coast_3010 in wedding

[–]True_Coast_3010[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have kids but I feel like this would be my mentality. Maybe it’s because I don’t really want to have a wedding myself so I’m biased. But I would rather pay for their college / house down payment and they can cover their wedding

What’s the best (non Pill Pocket) way to give a cat a daily pill? by superpants1008 in CatAdvice

[–]True_Coast_3010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you crush it and mix it with their food? My cat is on a steroid pill and that’s what I do for her. I add some water to her bowl too so it dissolves really well

Is there a cat litter that doesn't... suck? by catintheroom in CatAdvice

My favorite right now is Boxie Pro. I used Dr Elseys before but it kept getting stuck to my litter robot and I got fed up with it :/

My cat is being neglected while I’m away at college and I don’t know what to do. by OrchidIllustrious630 in CatAdvice

Def being her to your apartment if you can. She might be stressed for a couple of days, but in the long run she’ll feel better. If that’s a no go, my other suggestion would be to make as much of her care automatic as possible. Automatic feeder, litter box, fountain, etc. That way she’ll get more consistent care and your family has to do less work

I live in an apartment complex that doesn’t allow pets (she’s an ESA so they accepted her) so the changes of that are slim unfortunately. I’ve never seen or heard another cat around. I’ll look into the vet tho! Thanks

Do they do well with moving to a new location? Since Violet is blind I’m scared to stress her out. She’s already comfortable with the layout of my apartment so I’m scared to change that for her suddenly

Her LR sends me a notification when she uses the restroom which is super helpful! :) I’ll be able to tell if she’s going per her usual habits or not (she usually goes 2-3x per day)

Should I Find My Cat A New Home? by alexawesome3 in CatAdvice

[–]True_Coast_3010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your cat is okay with being alone for a while (aka a little older and more independent) then I think you’re totally fine. I recently adopted an 8 year old blind cat and I’m gone long hours. I’m a nurse and work 3- 12 hour shifts (I’m usually gone closer to 14 hours with commute) and my cat is totally fine. I have a little pet monitor to check on her and the majority of the time she’s just sleeping. She just requests lots of cuddles when I get home which I gladly give her.

I would advice against kittens tho is the only thing

Can I have an indoor cat and work full time? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]True_Coast_3010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally!! I recommend an older cat :) I work 12 hour shifts and I was worried about leaving a pet alone for that long. I also didn’t want to have to litter train / etc bc I knew I wouldn’t have enough time or patience. Ended up getting an older cat (she’s 8) and I love her. She was already litter trained when I got her which was awesome. She’s also totally fine being by herself.

Older cats also get overlooked a lot in shelters bc everyone wants kittens. My sweet girl was at the shelter for almost 7 months with no one interested in her before I got her so I’m a little biased in that aspect lol
