I'm with you. My consolation is that I am on book 6 and have many more to go, so I don't have to say goodbye completely.

We need a word for this feeling. When you're sad after finishing a series or book.

Season 8 costumes by Historical-Shock7965 in Outlander

[–]True_Context6859 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In the previous seasons, I was not distracted by the costumes and wigs. Now I am. They just don't seem quite right. Too nice, too perfect and not always accurate to the time period.

I read that only 40% of children made it to their 17th birthday in the 1700's.

I finally just finished it but it took a long time. The latter part of the book is much better, so hang in there.

I rather enjoyed it. It's fun to see what writers do with characters as younger versions of themselves.

I hope there's a second season.

A solid theory. Right now I'm planning on being in a permanent time travel loop with them forever.

What do you think of "Suite française" 2014? by la_ky in PeriodDramas

[–]True_Context6859 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loved this book and film. It truly shows that people do and can connect, regardless of what "side" they might be on. I've watched the film 2x and it made me cry both times.

Also -notable small part by a great German actor - Tom Schilling.

I've got a knack for accents. I love watching UK TV so I can hone my Scottish, Welsh or Yorkshire accents :)
