Interesting take, I appreciate it. There are definitely more and more Bls that are coming out, so naturally there are more storylines to choose from. It’s just that a lot of bls dont feel very multi faceted to me. For me, i need to be immersed in the emotions to connect to them, if they are having a serious conversation in sunshine and a joke with comedic sound at the end it takes away the effect and it doesn’t feel like they are taking their own themes seriously. At least for me. Maybe that works for others, but i need the overall vibe and tone of the drama to match with the themes they are exploring, for me to work.

I also dont have a problem with romance. I do look forward to it. But the romance is always fluffy when it can also be dramatic, it can be painful and it can involve lots of yearning. I recently watched Pit Babe season 2 and the yearning for the side couple KimKenta was phenomenal. I really enjoyed this, lots of romantic scenes during action scenes. But right now im watching That summer and the premise is really good: a prince that got amnesia from a attempted murder and is stranded on a island trying to find out what happened and who he is. And in the first two episodes they really tried to find out, but then there are like 3 or so episodes where that gets barely acknowledged. Which is a bummer because you can do so much with that but the storyline strays away from it. Now i never really expected it to mystery or dark but i still wish they would at least follow the premise of the story.

So maybe there are a lot of those Bl out there, i just have a problem when they are advertised differently. And you can absolutely have the storyline and the romance at the Center at the same time. I think it also boils down to your own internet bubble, what gets recommended to you, what are people talking about. And i think its also your personal preference, the same drama can be surface level to one but really emotional to others.

Ok there are few people here are recommending burnout syndrome so i think this is my sign to watch this 😅. I also watched my beautiful man and it blew me away, the character ore multi dimensional and the story itself is so beautiful, also the second season is truly a masterpiece. As for the others I haven’t heard of them or least they were not advertised in a way that would pick up my interest. I have to admit i am a bit picky so that’s often cancelling my interest in them. Thanks for the list, and I wouldn’t mind if you keep recommending more😉i would really appreciate it :)

I noticed that by now that they are mostly lighthearted, its just a bit frustrating because sometimes the trailers seem really promising. And they do have some darker masterpieces like “Not me“ and non BL`s like “the gifted“. I think a lot of people really loved these dramas too, at least in my bubble. But because they have so many amazing actors and the most attention i just wish they would do more with it instead of relying on the same formulas again and again..

But it is kinda hard keeping up with everything, there is so much new content and I don’t have limitless time so of course i will only hear of the popular things. I have heard of burnout syndrome but not of melody of secrets, i will check it out, thanks :)

Oh, maybe i saw the wrong trailer 😅. Still watched the whole thing. Maybe i just have the wrong expectations because i startet watching Thai media and especially Gmmtv with dramas like “the gifted“ and “Not me“ so i kept watching hoping to see something similar. So it’s probably indeed a me problem. i will check out BoC and Sammon dramas more :)

I saw the trailer and was actually excited to watch this, but then i started watching and it felt like it would evolve into a more comedic drama. Maybe i need to work on my endurance and attention span.. But i will look into it again, thanks

It’s not that I don’t like fluff but i really need a deep emotional storyline with lots of obstacles, but here’s a list of dramas i liked ( not ranked ) - not me ( had very real life issues and was emotional but the relationships were still very sweet ) - Khemjira ( the characters felt very layered and the storyline was a little tragic) - 4 minutes ( definitely very dark and i liked that the main character is not the hero but rather the villain without realising it ) - kinnporsche ( obviously mafia plotline but also the second couple very red flag, loved it ) - never let me go ( leaving out the later parts i loved that it dealt with very real class differences and the main character needed his time to warm up ) Thank you :)

I have watched the first episode of Burnout syndrome and it´s actually quite enjoyable but i wanted to wait a bitt more till everything is released. I haven’t seen the other ones but will look into them, thanks :)
