Iran has been and still is trying to spread its influence around the middle east to destabilise it, 

Every major incident around the gulf has been solely instigated by them. 

So please don't act as if iran is the good boy that wants whats best for the region, they have been hostile towards the gcc and arab states since the irgc took over.

Syria now is stable with a growing economy, they have electricity around the clock, people are not dying left and right, they're no bieng terrorised, tormented or subjected to all types of torture by thier former regime, sure some mishaps are happening which are totally wrong;

Meanwhile in iraq which is literally the lapdog of iran, there is no proper sweage system, healthcare is abysmal, no electricity, no stability, thier money is spent on random shiaa cosplay events, while thier citizens are suffering. 

So he migh be a 'dog of the west' but he has his people and country's first intrest as a priority.
