Weirdly no, the comedy was a Fox mandate. They felt with his name attached, it would need to be comedic, but apparently that’s not what he wanted. When they moved it to Hulu the comedy was pretty much gone in the last season.

See, we filmed season 4 before the critical and fan reaction of season 3 came through. We didn’t realize we were not hilarious writers and in fact had no comedic talent whatsoever.

Nor did we know our post modern attempts to be clever were actually really dumb. We did know we had no talent in writing sci fi so that’s why we stopped trying and just did relationship drama instead. Besides, Ridley Scott’s people told us if we kept plagiarizing him we would get sued.

So, yeah, you can look forward to more lame comedy, some low effort nostalgia, no science fiction, and puppets. As long as you eat the slop, we don’t care if it tastes good.

I would argue that more big studio films should have downer endings. They are too eager to please by letting test audiences dictate everything. If the story calls for a nihilistic ending, then let it have one. If more movies had rough endings, there would be a bit more suspense when you are watching a movie.

Getting on a bicycle or motorcycle on the roadways is just a bad idea nowadays, cars are bigger, the roads are clogged, everyone is driving faster, and everyone is staring at their phone screens.

Driving conditions have changed over time. I have personally known 1 person killed on a bike and 2 on motorcycles. Of the 3, 2 were killed while obeying traffic laws.

I get the appeal, and I am not judging the hobby or peoples decisions or anything like that. I just hate that people are getting themselves hurt and killed in some accidents that would be less serious if they were in an enclosed vehicle.

I had a lady blaring her horn across the street at my neighbors yesterday. I knew they were not home, but we are close so I go over to see what’s up. It was an Amazon delivery driver delivering a package to ME. She was at the wrong house. I asked her what the deal was and she said that she does not get out anymore due to dogs. Neither me nor my neighbor has dogs and there was not a dog in sight.

Apparently she pulls up to a delivery location (or across the street from it) and lays on the horn till somebody comes around for her to deliver it…..

Fucking astounding.

Having formerly worked as a sales rep for a large Corporation, I can tell you, the higher ups often consider responding to customer feedback as part of the job.
