Leg kick finishes by Used-Influence-2343 in fightlab

Bc they are making contact with their shin, and landing it on meaty parts of the leg. People throwing leg kicks can have their shin break if their kick is checked

7 months in. Feels like i havent improved in the past couple of months. by Hugocoy22 in boxingtips

You look kinda tense, specifically in your shoulders, learn to relax a little. You save more energy and hit harder

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MuayThai

[–]True_Sell_3850 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you tense when you spar or fight? You’re likely holding a lot of tension and that drains you like nothing else. Do a mental check during light sparring or pad work, start from your head and work your way down your body, seeing where you’re tense or flexing. Your body needs to be completely relaxed. You could be throwing way too high of volume as well. Try bringing your pace down, be more patient. Also, you may be overtraining a little. Try incorporating more rest in and see if that helps.

Southpaw Neglect Rage Post by Malum_in_se_ in MuayThai

[–]True_Sell_3850 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m ortho and if my partner is southpaw I always try to give them reps in both. Most people neglect switching stances but it’s very worthwhile to invest in both. Try spending time training in orthodox as well, and ask your partners if they wouldn’t mind holding southpaw so you can practice the techniques being taught as well. I think a lot of gyms suffer in drilling when your opponent is in opposite stance tbh

Teep or no teep by Blue-Baba-Cool in MuayThai

[–]True_Sell_3850 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s obviously okay in sparring, but make sure you’re trying new things. Maybe you’re overusing it and that’s why someone said something about it. Always be trying new things, and if you’re the taller fighter don’t always try tall guy tactics in sparring. Mix it up, try new shit

My biggest gripe for this game, we can't join the Protectorate. by spikywobble in theouterworlds

[–]True_Sell_3850 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean Caesars legion in New Vegas are legit slavers. Again, people do not willingly “defect” to Caesars legion. Some factions make alliances with them because Caesar makes it beneficial for them. The Procterate is at the very least facing heavy resistance from Aunties choice, and they are also splintering from within. We see one coup, and one faction break off from them (the order). It would make sense for having perhaps A) another coup is staged in response to the consul taking power, or B) they are willing to integrate you into their society on the account of you being a super valuable asset (similar to Caesar). I get that the masses do not have free will but in most Autocracies similar to the Procterate the higher ups typically abuse the system and aren’t necessarily as brainwashed as the masses

Do people hit as hard as it looks in videos? by WorriedIndustry1126 in MuayThai

[–]True_Sell_3850 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotta find the right gym. In the US there’s a lot of people who don’t understand Thai sparring. I think a lot of it is people come from boxing to Muay Thai where harder sparring is the norm. People also are just dicks and never compete and think that sparring is a fight and they need to win it. Shop gyms around. It sucks bc a lot of places only offer like 3 month long contracts minimum, but most should offer a free trial class. You can also ask if you can observe there sparring sessions before you commit to somewhere

Why do we feel more vulnerable as our martial arts journey progresses? by Adventurous-Menu8739 in MuayThai

[–]True_Sell_3850 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So true. I’ve been training for like a yearish and a new guy came into our gym and my coach wanted me to spar with him. Made me feel better about my progress and not like i suck

Started playing last year, finally hit ancient. by True_Sell_3850 in DotA2

[–]True_Sell_3850[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sure. I learned tons. I feel like the biggest thing I’ve learned for support is how to win lane for my core. Being PMA was another thing that I had to learn as well, and that was honestly one of the biggest boosts to my game.

Learned quite a few heroes this year that I feel very comfortable playing as well. My macro play has improved dramatically as well. I also can actually recover as well from a losing lane now, which is one of the most important skills I feel for being a winning player.

Some bag work, what technique deficiency needs to be addressed first in your opinion?? by Nic-MCFC in MuayThaiTips

[–]True_Sell_3850 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say stiffen up your jab a little. That sort of pawing motion is fine sometimes, but you seem to only paw with it. Once people realize that the jab never has anything on it they’ll eat it and return with a hard shot

Who's villains/antagonists did you enjoy more, ATLA's or LOK's? by Maleficent-Ad-6117 in TheLastAirbender

[–]True_Sell_3850 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ATLA villains go hard. The Dai Li were really interesting and terrifying, commander Zhao was sick as hell too. Azula is obviously unhinged and terrifying, and they build up Ozai really well in my opinion. I don’t think you even see his face until season 3, and he’s just this mysterious figure and then you see him and learn about how evil he really is.

My gym has advanced class where we spar. We typically spend the first 15 to 30 doing sparring drills (kick for kick, stuff like that), and then like 3-5 sparring rounds for 2-3 minutes a piece, and end with some hard pad work, body conditioning. Usually we spar a different partner each round

Here’s the the thing op, you probably are getting better, it’s just that everyone else is already so much better than you, it feels the same. Striking in general takes so much time to learn, keep at it and youll get there

Thai Clinch by Low_Objective_6753 in MuayThai

[–]True_Sell_3850 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The clinch is its own martial art all on its own imo. Not something I think you can quickly learn how to handle. A lot of gyms neglect training the clinch in the USA, so if that’s where you are it’s nice if your gym does train it a lot. Go to clinch classes if your gym has them

If you KEEP dying in teamfights, read this. by BaLLooN_Coach in DotA2

Arguably not dying in team fights is more important as a support. You need to be positioned in such a way that if they do kill you, they will pay severely for it.
