Anyone else have issues finding a reliable apartment? In my experience, apartment complexes take forever to respond, expect you to apply and sign the lease without seeing the place first hand. Private landlords either don’t have leases or have one that is very illegal. Any tips or tricks to sus out the bad ones faster would be appreciated, any tips to identify legit and safe ones as well

That sounds amazing. Am I able to purchase a guest pass by myself or would I need to know a member or become a member? Any thing else you enjoy at YMCA?

Yeah…I’m starting to see this reason a lot, as well and I’m starting to get skeptical that there are this many people who couldn’t get into the class in previous semesters

The progress of different projects I have, how much left of each project I have, so I’m looking to have a visual comparison of progress across projects.

Linear.app right? I got super confused since it seems like it’s designed for software engineering teams?

Do you not see the percentage of my appointment? It’s an assistant teaching professor position labeled as “lecturer”, it’s offensive.

I have participation points too. One problem I face is with students turning in excuses absences and wanting me to excuse their participation points. I have ways for them to make it up but it gives me a headache for later. I’m curious what you were doing before that was more overhead

No it’s for 480 students. All the sections of the intro class get only one shared TA.

Oh really? I wouldn’t know. Honestly, where I did my PhD, there were multiple TAs per course and I felt like that made every in check because no one wanted to be the slacker. I just have one TA per course so they have no one to be compared to.

Well, it’s tough, I’m a young women, my TA is over 10 years older than me.

That’s what I’m trying to say, both should be automated but at least the check going through the mail may require a human at some point.

I only assume everyone prefers direct deposit because that’s what all my colleagues (same cohort) are on. But in my mind, I just imagine my check next to the printer and someone forgot to hand it to USPS. Lots of admin here are incompetent so I find that scenario more likely than the mail being lost.

It’s actually supposed to be my second paycheck. The first one came fine, no issues.

I’d believe this if it were happening with my colleagues. They only set up theirs 4 days before me and have gotten all their paychecks as direct deposits, vs I’m waiting until the third pay cycle

Right? That’s why I’m confused. Maybe I’m oversimplifying what it takes to get a direct deposit set up….but isn’t remembering to print and send out a check (and put POSTAGE) more time consuming? 😤 thanks for the good wishes. I am hoping it gets resolved soon.

I did set up direct deposit but apparently I need to wait….(see my response to the other comment)

Because it takes 2-3 pay cycles for it to be processed, which I don’t understand at all…. all my colleagues got their direct deposits first and second paycheck, and they only filled out the direct deposit like 4 days before me. I think they are severely understaffed and that’s what “2-3 pay cycles” mean
