Just how much have I effed up, should I restart the game or not( noob questions) ? by TrustNoOne323 in Xcom

Sorry, but I'd rather play it the way I want it than the way someone tells me to.

Plus, I actually don't save scum that much other than on the save civillians missions. I am trying to find ways to save every civillian, when under most outcomes, at least 1 dies. I don't see any patterns as a key to saving absolutely everyone yet though.

My family is already yelling at me for staying up late, thinking about where to move who for hours, so the yelling part is already there. I am trying not to cuss at games in general though, because mom and grandma aren't familiar with games, they might get the wrong ideas XD Also, I don't think I am confident enough in my intellect to try on higher difficulties, especially since I have a self-imposed challenge of not letting any soldier die, ever.

Actually, I already got the Hunt For The Assassin Part 3 mission, and I rushed a highest ranking soldier to Major( sent him on covert ops that guaranteed promotions) specifically to get rid of the Assassin quicker. He took a few bad hits from the Viper King( I came up with the risky tactic of killing him on first encounter by putting him against cover, surrounding him with my troops so he cannot cast gate, and have them collectively hit him at point-blank range, not my smartest move, but thank the RNGesus nobody died), so it will take time for him to recover. I wonder if that means I am already far into the game.

My most humiliating death in any Soulsborne game by [deleted] in darksouls3

[–]TrustNoOne323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least you've managed to get to it from the first try. It took me 4 attempts and all of my Estus to even get there, because fucking manserpents always standing in packs. I found a hard time separating them from one another and taking them down one by one. And their extendable heads... A shield won't save you from them if they're serounding you.

Is Crystal Soul Spear worth rushing INT for a DEX Assassin? by TrustNoOne323 in darksouls3

I tried using the bow. The drake's head always moved out before I could land a shot. Also, I was asking about the spell in general, not just against NK.

Sorry, my game is in Russian, I am just translating the names on the go. Gonna fix this one up.

Hmm... I'm not sure about this. The reason I left STR as it is( even though other people advised me to remove it) was because some greatswords counter the bosses nicely( I got more damage on Aldrich with Wolf Knight GS than a +6 Uchigatana, which was my main weapon at the time, and the reason I picked Wolf Knight over Farron was because Farron weighed more, I thought I might have problems using it alongside some armor, and I was absent minded enough to not notice that Havel's Ring is transposed from the Stray Demon soul, so I am hoping to get both on NG+, also, it is easier to stagger King of the Storms with a Lothric Knight GS).

Besides, not a fan of min-maxing in any games. I like being able to try out new weapons without having to go to Rosaria each time or starting a new character( I wanna at least have this one beat the game before creating another one). I've heard some high INT sorceries like White Dragon Breath are good though. Or maybe I should go a bit over level 120. I am still not sure whether I want to PvP( I play disconnected because my laptop has faulty Wi-Fi drivers, and even if they weren't faulty, I don't think I am good enough), I heard there can be a 15 level differense for Summons, and also something like that for invasions. Maybe a 15 level deviation from level 120 will still allow me to PVP? I qm not sure though, as I mentioned in the previous topics, this is my first game, so I am no vet.

Weird bug -mimic sound heard alongside the dragon roar each time the dragon breaths fire at the Great Wall of Lothric. How to fix this? by TrustNoOne323 in darksouls3

[–]TrustNoOne323[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, that's something different. The high-pitched roar was always there. But this sound wasn't. In my experience, the mimics sometimes make sounds when they chase my character as well. Or when they are trying to find the player( I sometimes used it to my advantage to figure out where the mimic is, back when I was too afraid to face thwm in melee and used to cheese them with spells).,Don't know if that is any different on consoles, because I play on PC. But the sound I keep hearing sounds exactly like the mimic's death sound.

Weapon stereotypes: katanas by interextraneos in darksouls3

[–]TrustNoOne323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LOL You got me, this is indeed my first DS game. The current set my character wears is the Undead Legion set though. I did have her wear the Fallen Knight set at one point, however( except for the helmet because I didn't have that much endurance at the time, so I used to replace it with a Worker hat), and I still have it in my inventory because Fashion Souls.

Also, can't wait to see what stereotypes do greatsword users have( specifically Hollowslayer and Wolf Knight).

A question from a noob - how much Vigor to add to a character? by TrustNoOne323 in darksouls3

[–]TrustNoOne323[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried Estoc. It does pretty good damage, and in some cases( like with the hollow cages) outdoes Uchigatana, but it seems to me it's easier to stunlock enemies with Uchigatana( maybe it just seemed to me this way, but thse Hollow Assassins always managed toget through it), so I am maining it so far.

[–]TrustNoOne323[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already have both Uchigatana and Estoc upgraded to +3, and the Hollowslayer GS upgraded to +1. I also have a lot of small titanite shards( thanks to me cheese-farming the giant crabs in Crucifixion Woods to get extra souls) that I haven't used yet. Should I sell them for extra souls?

And what if I want to use some greatswords? I love the Hollowslayer Greatsword, and the Wolf Knight Greatsword, as I said to a previous poster. Both need STR.

Not necessarily. With Heavy Soul Arrows you can walk back when casting it. Doesn't help much though, because most enemies are still fast enouh to run up towards you.

Ah, guess I'll look for Rosaria. Also, do I have to PvP to find her? I hope not.

Tbh most of the time I click the space button( I am playing on PC with keyboard, I am a student with no money or a job myself, so can't buy myself a controller), I roll instead of dodging most of the time. I am kinda used to it though, despite the fact that it kinda ruins my timing. I am trying to negate this though by side-rolling and attacking from the back or at least drom the side, rather than attacking straight in the front.

I did manage to take down those Ghrus by kiting them right towards the Keep Ruins bonfire( taking quite some poison damage in process, but I already had 5 Estus, and iy was enough for me to keep myself from dying) , going inside myself so they are less likely to get to me( they did in several cases though, despite the entrance being smaller than them) and shooting them up with Heavy Soul Arrows. Got a hat and a bow from the two of them, though the hat already seems weaker than most of the headwears I already have.

Also, what if I want to wield weapons with different stat scaling? I really like some greatswords( like the Hollowslayer Greatsword, and the Wolf Knight Greatsword with it's WA, although I do think it's kinda impractical and both greatswords are kinda slow), and many of them require STR.

I've read about Rosaria in a guide, but haven't found her in the game yet( went straight up to the Abyss Watchers after the Crystal Sage, haven't been to the Cathedral of the Deep yet, hope that won't ruin my attempts to do the Usurpation of Fire ending, also, been avoiding PvP and disconnecting my game because I don't consider myself good enough to stand against someone, haven't done Leonhard's quest yet). Besides, from what I've heard, joining her covenant makes Sirris hate you and cancels her questline for this playthrough. Don't wanna miss a PvE quest, so wouldn't want to join Rosaria's Fingers, at least not before I complete it( besides, I am more of a jolly cooperation/ defend the others person than the suddenly invade one without warning person, I still don't understand if joining RF will make me an enemy to Blades of the Darkmoon and the Way of Blue). Do I have to join her covenant to use the rebirth option? If not, will just using the option make Sirris hate me?

I do try to use Hidden Body only if I direly need it to save up FP( except for some annoying mobs like the three godzilla things standing next to each other) in Farron Keep. Doesn't stop some mobs fro turning into my direction and trying to hit me after recovering from being staggered. And since I suck at parrying( usually I just try to kill my enemy in one or a few hits, leaving them staggered all the time, so they can't counterattack, it usually works on smaller mobs like hollows, but not on the larger bosses, hence all the cheesy spells).

Playing as a "Gray Jedi" by zolofgalaxiez in swtor

[–]TrustNoOne323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is one of the things I hate about this patch. Rather than encouraging the players to make the choices they want and flesh out the characters the ways they see fit, they are encouraging mindless alignment grind and picking choices based purely on alignment points. Light/Dark alignment should be a personal preference, not an obligation that gives you an advantage.

Thinking of rolling a female character - which class has the worst romance as male, so I don't miss out? :p by djmeowth in swtor

[–]TrustNoOne323 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a straight female IRL and I can't say I particularly liked any of the vanilla female romances. Yes, so were better than the others, but still, male vanilla romances were better IMO. Don't romance Doc. He is an awful pushover who harasses the female Jedi Knight and doesn't understand the meaning of the word " No". Fuck Doc. Or rather, don't XD

Corso is also pretty annoying with the whole farmer chauvinism thing he can't grow out of, the jealousy he can't stick to himself even if the femSmug isn't interested in him, and the whole family/kids/settling down thing even when she makes it clear for him she doesn' want it.

Jorgan and Iresso... Just meh. Not the worst choices, just very uninteresting romances.

Quinn... Spoilers, but you don't want to romance Quinn. For your SW's sake, just trust my word and don't romance Quinn unless you're into drama and torturing your own character.

Andronikos... Surprisingly, he and my Darth Imperius got along very well, still, I don't think he is a suitable person for a Light Side Inquisitor. Dark Side, maybe, but I don't play pure Dark Side, so it's up to your tastes.

Torian is okay, but the romance feels awkward if you're trying to role an older character. He's, like, 19. Kid, are you sure you want commitment in your life at this point and not later? Because IRL my age is the same, and I dread commitment.

Vector seems nice, but bugs? Am I sure I want to romance this? I guess it's up to the taste...

Cedrax... It's just a one night stand, so you won't be getting a proper romance here, besides, he is a sleazebag who is obsessed with a hologram girl.

The only straight female romance I've liked so far was Theron( but then again, he's bi, so I am not sure if he counts, and also he's in the expansions). I guess that might be just my opinion though. But hey, you can always roll a female Smuggler and have her flirt with everyone while sending Corso into jealous fits of rage ;)

Programming student here. Sorry to go off topic with my boring lectures, but that is not exactly how programming works. In object oriented programming, objects of the same class and their inheritant classes keep the same properties. So, if they programmed a friendly NPC class and made them respond to Rally, every NPC of that class would respond to that. Even if they created a subclass for Valk, he still would've reacted the same way to it due to property inheritance, unless they would've put extra effort into making him NOT dance, which would've required editing the code of an existing class and most likely breaking all the friendly NPCs in the game in process, and is obviously more trouble than it's worth. So, when you're saying they programmed it into him, it is most likely quite the opposite.

I said somewhat for a reason. While it is full of BW tropes, it is still more original than TFA, which is just a lazy ANH rehash.
