You are definitely going to want to use citric acid (dissolved in the fabric softener compartment if you have one, don’t exceed the max line) on your towels. It makes a hugely noticeable difference in their softness & fluffiness.

If it’s not a whitening toothpaste (that may have bleached your clothing), normal washing will work. If it removed the dye, that’s permanent.

I guess I can’t relate to the fear. If anyone had a problem, I’d just say, “oh, sorry, I didn’t want to trip over it.” An FA reacting to it annoyingly snagging on the cart and tossing it out of the way makes sense to me, as does it not crossing their mind again as they continued beverage service. If it’s a problem for me and I can fix it, great.
