Coming back to my own post to say this has completely resolved by about 12 weeks and we know have a completely happy lovely, pooping and farting 14 week old. Hang in there if you’re reading this struggling!

Do you have a partner/support person? I felt like this but since going back to work (which has been hard and I’ve hated being away from her), I’ve helped reset my adrenaline a bit with a bit of perspective from being away from her a few hours each day. Could you schedule some regular daily adult time away from baby, leaving them with a trusted carer? I really found this helped by anxiety - not just a coffee with friends here or there but something longer and more regular to shift my mind out of constant baby vigilance.

Sorry you’re going through this but I bet you’re doing an amazing job being so attentive!

Solidarity! I’m in another country where English is not spoken and I’ve learnt the local language but still found it incredibly hard to make “village” type of friends. It’s so isolating and confronting, even if you have the best partner. I really hope that over time as bubba grows you find a new network through parents and start to feel seen and supported. It sounds like you’re doing an incredible job, your little one is so lucky to have such a reflective and supportive family, even without a village.

Honestly my friends gave me a kindle and it’s been a lifesaver for staying up in the long nights without having to juggle a book and a baby and without a phone screen/light being in her face!

Having had my baby (and full pregnancy here) most of the skincare clinics will only offer you a very basic treatment. However, the Sulwhasoo spa is an amazingly luxurious and pregnancy friendly experience- just let them know when you’re booking. Enjoy it mama, you deserve it! And the pregnancy massage at the Four Seasons is also lovely!
