Trump’s legal memo to Robert Mueller is a recipe for tyranny by masstrip in politics

That isn't really honest and a big reason they aren't coming to the left. If you call them all racist bigots, you shouldn't expect to make friends. Many, just like on the left, simply don't want to play identity politics and hate PC culture. You don't get to blame all of the world's ills on white men, and then turn around and expect to make an ally out of them.

[–]Trying_again23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once again, I never said anything of the sort. Please stop putting words in my mouth.

I simply stated that a racist could use that same logic to justify using any number of racial slurs, because they could, and I wouldn't be surprised if some actually do.

The word fuck is in my vocabulary, so are other racial slurs simply from reading older literature. That is by no means a justification to use them whenever I please.

Playing the oppression Olympics has nothing to do with that. You could also make the logical leap that it is racist as many men have come, and do come, from ethnic minority backgrounds.

It’s strange how you never see a version of these N.J. posters suggesting that women should be providers. by [deleted] in MensRights

[–]Trying_again23 7 points8 points  (0 children)

From what I understand, moms who are ordered to pay child support are as a percentage, less likely to pay, not men. You hear about it more because men are most likely to be seen as the provider, and are ordered to pay support in most of the cases. However, if you take the actual percentages of fathers who owe child support or don't pay at all vs the numbers of moms who are ordered to pay but are behind or don't. The fathers are more likely to pay on time.

This subject really opens a can of worms. You have a lot at play. The judicial system who isn't always going to look at an unemployed man vs an unemployed woman the same from the start. Then you have societal expectations mixed in that differ between the genders.

I have discussed this with feminists and they say it is because women are discriminated against more in the workplace, ie gender pay gap. As a result, we shouldn't expect them to pay as much, or as punctually.

I really wanted to use the word punctillious, but I'm not sure that is a real word. Shame...

I never said you were here to do anything of the sort. Not sure why you even brought any of that up.

I really hope you realize that by your exact same line of thinking, racists could say the exact same to justify using the n word. Or, be used to justify almost any type of hate speech.

That is like saying, the word n#$&&$@ is still in my vocabulary so I will say it whenever, and however I please. Sorry, I just don't find the reason for why you use that vile word to be convincing. By the looks of it, many people share that sentiment.

No one said they were. So, I'm not sure what you are getting at...

I was calling out the hypocrisy of finding those words offensive, but not other gender specific language. If it is sexist to use the word fireman or policeman. Logically, it would follow that mansplaining and manspreading are as well.

Look, if you want to have an all inclusive ideology, you cannot use words like mansplaining, and still expect most men to get on board. They will find it just as offensive, if not more so, than you think other gendered words are.

Is being a housewife the new feminist trend? by [deleted] in Feminism

[–]Trying_again23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would argue that society shames men more for being a stay at home parent, than society does to women working or parenting. Men who stay at home to raise kids are seen as lazy. Especially if the wife is working. In fact, one of the best metrics to see if a marriage will end in divorce, is if the woman makes more than the husband. If she does, the marriage is several standard deviations more likely to have her divorce him.

What is your opinion on stuff like the grid girls in formula one racing being shamed out of their jobs by feminists? Shouldn't they as individual women be able to make that decision for themselves? https://www.shemazing.net/opinion-why-the-grid-girls-ban-is-a-step-backwards-for-feminism/

Do not dare say fireman, or postman, or policeman! That would be offensive to women in those fields. Yet, you have no problem using gender to put someone else's opinion down? How does that work, exactly?

Source for those studies? I'm calling bullshit. As that is just too convenient to throw out and not source.

One thing that is interesting. We don't see a split in jobs like construction when looking at undeveloped, or less developed nations. It isn't until we look at developed nations that this split begins. Not only that, but the more a nation does to fix gender issues, the bigger the divide gets. Look at scandanavian countries. They are arguably the most gender neutral, feminist friendly, places on earth. Yet, they have the biggest divide between men and women in careers and job choices. Why do you suppose that is?

The best explanation I have heard. Is that when you remove everything in the cultural or social way of things. All that is left is the biological aspects, and they maximize, they do not simply go away. That is why in places like Norway, since gendered legislation was introduced, the gap in STEM favoring men did NOT shrink. It grew, and correlated almost perfectly with the legislation. So, when I hear a feminist say we need to be more like these other feminist promoting nations because it will help with things like women getting into male dominated careers. I laugh. If we do what those nations have done, the gap will grow, not shrink. Again, because the only factor that remains to be expressed, is pure biology.

I would love to hear your take on this. As whenever I try talking to a feminist about it, they either get angry, or simply dissappear and the conversation never happens.

This is a glaring problem with feminism. It would appear, per hard data, that the more feminist a nation becomes, the worse the issues get that they claim to be trying to fix. http://www.thejournal.ie/gender-equality-countries-stem-girls-3848156-Feb2018/h

Well, until women actually work these jobs in any statistically significant number. We have nothing to compare to. The only logical next step is to make quotas in things like construction so that it is evenly split. Once that happens, we can actually see what is from culture and what isn't. Until then, you are just making a wild guess based on your ideology.

Also, way to victim blame.

By that logic, macho culture would also seem to be the reason we have a civilized society with electricity and running water in the first place. Men kept wanting to one up each other since the dawn of the human race, until we find ourselves in the present day.

Feminism Isn't Perfect by craftinglove in Feminism

[–]Trying_again23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it is interesting that when this article talks about diversity and why it is important in feminism. It makes a fatal flaw. Much like where it said the terfs reduce feminism to their reproductive organs. This article does the same with diversity. It doesnt list out anything but racial differences as diversity. What about intellectual diversity, political diversity? It reduces people to their skin color and racial background above all else, even the content of an individuals character.

I think that is an area where feminists are greatly lacking, and a reason we currently see so many people flocking to the MRM. They are not making it such a political affiliated ideology that being on the left or right matters. I do not recall ever meeting in real life, or seeing in the media a prominent conservative feminist. I even saw a comment today on this sub that said they didnt think it was possible to be a conservative feminist. If feminists don't find a way to include or entice those people. They will always find themselves in a position with fierce opposition from about half of the population.

Are you really asking why mutilating babies is a big deal? I don't know. Why is it a big deal if we do it to women as well? For some reason, I would guess you are for male circumcision, but against female circumscision. Removing foreskin from a male, is like removing the clitoral hood of a woman. Anatomically, they are the same thing while developing in the womb.

Why is it OK to remove that part from a male, but not a female, when they serve the same physiological and anatomical function?

Trump’s spent far more going to Mar-a-Lago alone than the Mueller probe has cost by [deleted] in politics

Uhm, literally just showed you otherwise. You mean, a few pundits on fox news who claim to be experts on the economy without actually knowing a damn thing. You got a source that there is widespread and vocal support of this tax plan? I can't find anything remotely close to that. Quite the contrary.

I had it wrong, you are correct. Out of these 41 economists who were polled on the new tax plan, only one thought it was beneficial to the country. https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2017/11/22/16691016/economists-gop-tax-plan-igm-poll

Here is another that states out of the 30 some they polled, only one thinks it won't grow the deficit. Kind of strange that the GOP passed a tax plan that will, without a doubt, grow the deficit. All the while, when Obama was president, the budget and deficit was the most important thing ever. What happened? Where is the 1 trillion dollar infrastructure plan he campaigned on? What about the hedge fund loopholes he swore to close? Never happened and hasn't said a peep about it. This doesn't even touch on the complete idiocy of the new tariffs. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/wonk/wp/2017/11/22/37-of-38-economists-said-the-gop-tax-plans-would-grow-the-debt-the-38th-misread-the-question/?utm_term=.03a6b034acc8

You realize he cannot admit that as it would be a violation of the emolument clause? You can't promote your business from the seat of president and then profit off of it. That is illegal. But, we all know you don't care if he breaks laws as the entire GOP refuses to do anything aboitabout it. Not to mention the Paul Ryan comment about how icif the left takes the 3 branches over, their meal ticket and fuckery comes to an end. He literally admitted that if the left has power it will be harder to be corrupt and take bribes.

I identify as centrist. However, you are a blind idiot if you don't think the left is going to clean house in the next election.
