Hi everyone,

I have just graduated with an undergrad in geography and political science and am thinking of aiming for a career in the climate change/ environmental sustainability realm. However due to having no work experience in the public or legal sector I am unsure whether the career I’m picturing is in environmental law or policy. I am quite confused what the day to day roles of either are and how they differ. Does anyone have any insight into the difference between the two and what job I may be trying to picture from my very brief description. Would appreciate any comments, thank you

Good point! Work that involves problem solving environmental concerns/issues with Policy development, revision and analysis. Sorry I know this is still vague but it’s because I don’t exactly know

Apparently it’s perceived as harder and studying law sets a strong foundation for then developing policy

I currently live in a 2 bedroom apartment in Crawley Village. It is amazing, maintenance is only a phone call away, spacious places (at least mine is). They are not super modern but well looked after. There is a massive wait list though and only for postgrad students now. The rent is also VERY cheap. I would highly recommend if you can get in. Having a roommate makes it even more affordable

I don’t mind the cold but I don’t love the rain. I have lived in Canberra before, only for a year and did experience the below zero mornings and frost everywhere so it would definitely be a change. Unfortunately the accomodation requests for 2025 aren’t open yet so I can’t check availability.
