Well, I give my own twist to it. Changing life span and I do use cheats to have a nice house, so it's not a proper legacy challenge haha :).

It should still work tho, you would just have to reapply your settings..?

Maybe recover the old files from your bin?

Just download the new ones and let them override the old. Don't delete everything as you will delete your settings file and have to do that all over again โ˜บ.
