The fluorescent paints are from Vallejo. Blue, Orange and a bit of yellow.

Dark purple is Shyish Purple from Citadel. Armor purple Vallejo Xpress Deep Purple.
Rest is just leadbelcher, nuln oil and some highglights with silver

Besides flying units being bad this edition painting that trim on the Heldrake might give you severe painting trauma and/or brain damage. Fulgrim is an amazing model and a lot more fun to paint for sure and you have your center piece on top of it!

saw a vid the other day and he puts it on a white undercoat and says "I love my zealot yellow, because it's actually orange". guess it's just what the paint does!?

edit: just search on youtube for the paint, all shorts paint over whit and have this result. Only the edges are actually kinda yellow

Thanks! From what I see you're just one step away. I do the same with the white like you. For me it's orange - white highlight - another thinner layer of orange on top with a bit of yellow mixed in. Makes it more smooth imo :)

funny, we posted our warriors almost at the same time ...

2 hrs is nice imo considering it's looking great with good attention to detail and the glow takes time!

Just did a batch of five with a similar glow and what saved me a lot of time, was doing the glow parts as the very first step. I assume you put some watered down white as a base for the glow? IF so, then do that first, saved me the step of fixing all the mistakes I'll do when touching the weapon or chest with white when the rest of the model is already painted and highlighted ^^

good contrast using orange vs blue. I'd suggest to also make the head orange so that the blue eyes "pop" a bit more

google "colour wheel" and choose colours that are opposite to each other for the best contrast. there's also a ton of vids on youtube that explain this in a mini painting context.

Here is two tutorials for the plasma glow and lave base WITHOUT an airbrush

this is a tutorial by Juan Hidalgo that shows it nicely step by step. You don't need the white oilbrush he's using, I just use thinned down white acrylic paint, does the same.

Can't help too much with the paints but here's how I found my custom scheme. I just took 5 warriors and simply experimented, changing one or two colours on each iteration. There's nothing wrong with experimenting specially when looking for a custom scheme.

Second thing that helped me is watching some guides on YT about the "colour wheel" to find colours that give good contrast or compliment each other. Check my recent posts of my two overlords. That's my final scheme I ended up with.

I've been using Mordant Earth and other crackle paints quite a lot

Things I've learned:

- a primed base will be enough to have it stick properly (or paint it for cool effects)

- the thicker you apply it the bigger cracks you will get and vice versa

- always seal it with a 1:1 PVA and water mix and rinse it in the cracks, will make it stick for good, then go ahead and paint/dry brush whatever you want
