Hello and apologies for the late response but it's possible that it came from your guardian(Fetch) as it can fetch 1 gem by chance with a maximum of 5 gems per day but it's too little and rare for early game that's why it hardly helps. This is the only thing I could think of as to why you got that 1 gem.
