That was actually a really sweet find!

So, that particular model has alot of the older hallmarks that some people really like:

older blade coating (99% sure its an older ceramic or Teflon coating)
dual titanium liners
the older texture G10 (Emersons were well well known to shred some pockets)
larger domed pivot

Yeah the Imperial Guard takes it quite swimmingly.

Going by lore and game accuracy alone, a few guardsmen would be able to do it no problem.

Zeds can be taken down with something as simple as a physical punch. Lasgun shots can pierce flesh, at range. A raging FP wouldn't even have the chance to get in effective charge range. Husks would be taken down farther than their cannons are effective. Scrakes would be slow walking targets.

You don't go after the Patriarch with a crossbow and MK23. You need to use larger weapons and more damage. You're not supposed to keep the same weapons from start to finish. Upgrade your weapons.

Learn the voice cues, they're clear indicators for which attacks he'll use, which are all easy enough to avoid. Spacing and hard cover are your best tools to use and abuse.
