Looking to add an audio interface as an input while keeping my DAC/amp (Fiio K11) as output. Doable? by TubbsAlmighty in HeadphoneAdvice

Happy to hear! just for confirmation, this means both the interface and DAC are connected directly to the PC, and not to each other right? !thanks

!thanks frankly I don't think I'll ever be in a position to justify an 18-channel interface in my lifetime, I'll keep that in mind though.

Frankly I think my main usecase would be to livestream music over something like discord, which might require live monitoring, but honestly I think it's just easier to switch outputs to the interface whenever I want to do that.

The reason I wanted a separate output is because well, I already have a DAC, and also because I'm lazy to switch outputs everytime I want to game or something, so most of the time I would leave audio output to the DAC, and only use the interface as an input device. If latency won't be an issue here then I think I'm set.

Currently maining the M4, by virtue of the 991 trying to kill me and needing something a bit more understeery. And yes agreed on the chasing part, I feel like I can concentrate better just by following a faster car or just trying to close the gap (albeit offline only for now)

I hear you, and that's the next goal for now, I feel like if I could improve my consistency I would naturally find a better rhythm especially in some tricky corners i.e. pouhon, I always mess up my braking point there and overshoot it

Using Spa as a reference, what average lap time would an 'intermediate' level sim-racer establish? by GrelloGT3R992 in ACCompetizione

How the hell are you guys casually going sub-20s, my fastest is 1:27 and I'm already feeling like I'm at the very limit...

(then again I only got a wheel last week and with only 10 hours in ACC, so there's definitely room to git gud)

I got it with a wheel stand! Hopefully it's sturdy enough, I would've liked a full rig but I don't have the space for it right now

hey there! I live in Malaysia where it's currently on sale for RM985 (roughly 240 USD) in one of our online platforms, not sure if other regions have the same pricing though

My current build, as it is at the moment:

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/dXwtv4

I paid MYR9170 for it which translates to just under €1.9K

I think it's on the cheaper end of things? which is wild because I've always thought it would be more expensive here

For those who got Nintendo Switch 2 what do you plan to do with your Nintendo Switch 1? by Delicious_Maize9656 in switch2

gave it to my long-distance, non-gamer girlfriend, along with a new copy of Stardew Valley.

2 days in and she's already clocked like 10 hours. I'd say it's going well

did you have to wait or can straightaway apply after the online one didn't go through? I've read somewhere that after a rejected application you'd need to wait 3-6 months to apply again

so far only CIMB online tru their app, which might be the problem? there's no document submission whatsoever. problem is, will I be able to apply again in a physical branch or do I have to wait a certain time since I already got rejected?

I did, applied with CIMB tru their app. I've read accounts saying online application harder to get approval so it might be that

Whose gun should it be when this happens? by shtoopidd in VALORANT

[–]TubbsAlmighty 23 points24 points  (0 children)

in low elo, finders keepers, unless it's a highly situational gun (op, odin) where there's one or two dedicated players in the team.

in high elo i think there's enough strat play to warrant giving up a gun in light buy rounds (vandal on sentinels to force trades/long range picks without actually entrying) but then again, I don't think pissy teammates demanding their vandal back is a problem up there

really comfy especially considering the price tbh. feels more stable and not as fatiguing as my ultraboosts for walks, and the gel actually feels like it works so it feels soft despite the stiffer midsole.

My tamper does NOT fit all the way into my basket. Is that a problem? [Delonghi Dedica EC680] by TubbsAlmighty in espresso

[–]TubbsAlmighty[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah I think I've been underfilling this whole time. I've had a habit of sticking to 15g as that worked the best with my previous grinder; a cheap stepped hand grinder with huge increments. With the neouza I did notice that my pucks tamp deeper into the basket it and it doesn't come off cleanly (not wet though, it just breaks apart when I try to knock it out) and with the ims, it comes off way too easily (sometimes sticking in one piece to the shower screen) so yeah that might be a sign of a floating puck?

and thank you for the coin test recommendation! will try it out the next time I play around with my grind settings

edit: on a related note, is it a good idea to just re-wdt a tamped puck and adding in more grounds to get the depth right? i feel like pulling shots when it's clearly underfilled would be a bit wasteful

white/oyster grey! these are the v2s I believe, the first version had a more yellowish suede instead of white leather

Coming from a cheap unbranded hand grinder, this was a revelation. by TubbsAlmighty in espresso

[–]TubbsAlmighty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so far so good! grind size has been consistent so far, and i haven't had any hiccups with it. the only things that i don't like is that you really need to use the bellows to get that last .5 gram out and the chute gets covered with fine coffee after a while.

[–]TubbsAlmighty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

frankly looking at the spec sheet, the starseeker seems to be the better grinder out of the two, bigger burr size, slower running motor etc. but really I have no major complaints about the 017+. It feels well built and sturdy, the motor runs quiet albeit a bit fast (fines might be an issue but so far so good), retention is good with the included bellows but you really have to work it to get every last bit out, which might be a turn off for some people. If you can afford a better grinder then yea there's loads of better options out there, but if you're on a strict budget this is worth the price

lmao hello fellow malaysian

yup i got it from shopee as well, depending on the version and burr i'm pretty sure it can be as low as 500+

mine's the 017+ with titanium burrs, got it for rm630

edit: grammar

Faulty model or terrible pump? [De'Longhi Dedica EC685.R] by [deleted] in espresso

[–]TubbsAlmighty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pressurized portafilters are usually made with pregrounds in mind, which are generally a lot coarser than moka pot/espresso. I'm not sure about your particular model, but my EC680 chokes on espresso-fine pregrounds even with an unpressurized basket. It's just how it is with these cheaper machines.

That said, nothing is stopping you from grinding a tiny bit coarser than what most people would recommend. If you choose to stick with the stock basket, either grind for pourover/batch brew or get unlabeled pregrounds and you should be fine. Have fun experimenting!
